  1. Burks has unfortunately taken a pretty big step back this year. I don't think it's age just finally catching up to him either. He is just way off his career shooting percentages. And he doesn't bring anything on defense to offset that.
  2. Yeah. The Cavs were tanking when they carried the streak. The Pistons were not. The players have played hard but just aren't good enough. And the coaching did them no favors. I put this fully on Gores, Weaver, and Monty.
  3. It was beautiful. We will break this streak before too long if he can play like that down the stretch. It was pretty much a no show by everybody else on the court tonight the last 5 minutes.
  4. I am not sure if it was more Cade or Burk's fault but that three by Finney-Smith with 38 seconds to go was killer. Burk's got beat off the dribble and Cade left his man in the corner thinking he might need to help but the big guys were there to help. Hard to fault Cade since he was the hero tonight but I think the right play there would have been to stay on the shooter in the corner.
  5. One of his best games of the year. And of course it comes on a night when nobody else can make a shot in the 4th quarter. Johnson, Finney-Smith, and Sharpe all made plays down the stretch for the Nets and nobody in our supporting cast did. I agree with you for the most part. Bogey can make shots but didn't tonight when it mattered.
  6. That was the best we could come out of the timeout with?
  7. Cade doing his part. Can they get enough stops?
  8. Monty has been subbing a lot at the end of games lately. Now Knox is in? Man...weak foul call on Ausar there.
  9. I do think it's important to have Stewart and Duren out there together. The question is do you put Ausar in for for Ivey to try slow down Bridges or Thomas. Ivey really isn't helping a lot right now.
  10. I was skeptical taking Stewart out and the Pistons paid for it there with an And 1 offensive rebound for the Nets.
  11. Pistons going to ride their starters heavy minutes tonight, as they should.
  12. I, for one, will be happy when we break the streak.
  13. Ausar has done a nice job on Thomas tonight. Probably a good game to leave him out there to guard Thomas and see what happens.
  14. Even by Wiseman's standards, this is bad.
  15. We've seen this tale before. Do it in the 4th quarter when it matters to close the game out. These third quarter surges are nice but don't win you games.
  16. Is Bagley hurt? I want to win this game and am not sure why we have to play Wiseman.
  17. Wiseman is so bad. It is really just killing the Pistons that Cade and Ivey are not developing to their draft hype. Maybe it's just youth. Cade puts up some nice stats but man, they seem like low impact stats.
  18. Sasser needs to SHOOT it. He's a good shooter. Can't just give us empty minutes all the time.
  19. I'll say this for Ivey...he has been playing with a lot more urgency lately. Still not playing great but this is the hardest I have seen him play over a period of several games, including his time at Purdue. He just doesn't have a great feel for the game though. Mental errors and sloppy ball handling/passing are a continual problem.
  20. I think the problem with the bench is more the big guys than the guards. Not that Sasser or Burks are that good but we can't get anything done with Wiseman in there, even if he is playing with starters.
  21. Ausar needs to make it his mission to not let Thomas go off.
  22. Pistons 1-6 from three and getting wide open looks. It's the NBA folks. When your two starting guards struggle to stay about 30% on three point shooting, you are not going to win a lot of games.
  23. Monty just overthinks things. Should have taken Cade out with two fouls first instead of Bogey. Now Cade has to play soft on defense with the subs and the Nets immediately go on a mini spurt.
  24. Glad Vecenie went on rant. It's good people not part of the Detroit media are bringing light that something is rotting inside this organization. Interesting take on Weaver doubling down on his mistakes. It seems spot on. The fact Killian is still around is insane. I don't hold Cade and Ivey too much against Weaver yet though. The Pistons can start exploring trades but it's too early to sell low on those guys. There may be an element of coaching and development that we should be more concerned about with those two.
