That is pretty interesting since Europe has so many professional leagues. Spain in particular has the ACB which most consider the 2nd best domestic league after the NBA and third best league overall after the NBA and Euroleague.

Like JEIII just said. This is probably about what Stew will get.

I keep having visions of Duren grabbing the defensive board. Outlet to Cade who pushes it up the middle of the floor with Ivey and Ausar running both wings.

The absolute worst thing you can do is sign a marginal role player like Brown right after he wins a title. That dude is about to get overpaid in a big way.

I didn't think The Bear could top season 1. I was so wrong.

I think it is the wrong time for this team to go all in on free agency. We have no clue what Cade, Ivey, and Ausar are even going to be in a few years. Even the role players like Duren and Stewart are unknowns at this point, well maybe not Stewart so much. I will sign just about anyone to a 1 or 2 year deal. Those never handicap you. But you start talking 3 or 4 years and 20%-25% of our cap? Nope. It would have to be such a clear home run free agent pickup for me to commit to that. But no way am I giving a guy like Cam Johnson 4/$120m which is what people are saying they would give him. This team is full of kids who need to develop. Let that happen for the next 2 or 3 years then start to go big in free agency. For one, if those kids do develop it will be easier and cheaper to attract free agents here. And two, we will know what skills those guys developed or more importantly, didn't develop. Then you can use free agency to shore up areas we are lacking in. All the ingredients for the chili are in the pot. This is where you let it simmer for an hour or two and see what flavors develop. Then you start to adjust your seasoning. I also value flexibility. Every year there is some team(s) looking to clear cap space to make some move. I like keeping some space to help those teams. Let them park a bad deal on our roster for a year and pick up a draft pick for doing so.

Amount of games Cam Johnson has played per season: 57 60 (Covid years so only 72 game season) 66 42

Twice now I saw an interview with who I thought was Ausar and it turned out to be Amen. Damn twins.

WTF? https://www.inquirer.com/sports/sixers-trade-rumors-tobias-harris-20230624.html

It would take quite a bit if they are willing to match offers. He's a decent player but he has a pretty bad injury history.

And it begins.

Guessing Cade and other vets will also be in Vegas to practice with the team.

It might look like an OK trade in hindsight. But at the time it was offered it is not a good deal IMO. First, you can't say it was Ausar for Hendricks + 2025 first round pick. You have to evaluate the trade using who is #5 on your board at the time. Because the guys 1-4 on your board might get picked 5, 6, 7, and 8 and now you are stuck with the #5 guy on your board. I don't even know who that would be for me. Ausar and Hendricks were 1 and 2 but who would I have at 5? Wallace? Lively? Black? ****? Those guys are less attractive to me than Hendricks and now I don't think I do the trade. Then the 2025 pick is going to be protected in some capacity. Probably top 10 at least if not total lottery protection. 2026 is Flagg/Boozer so bare minimum it will be top 2 protected because nobody is giving up a shot at one of those kids. The toss in Utah might not even be in the lottery in 2025 and that pick is less attractive.

ESPN/ABC averaged 3.74 million viewers for the draft. They said it was the highest rated draft ever for viewers.

His form looked a lot better at the end of the year compared to the beginning.

Weaver told you why. He swings for home runs. I love Hendricks and he was who I wanted if they didn't take Thompson. But his offense is very limited to basically just a catch and shoot type player. He will be a very nice player for the next ten years. But he isn't a home run. Thompson puts pressure on the rim, creates for others and himself. If he develops an average three point shot that's your home run.

No chance Victor plays in that game.

Sam Vecenie and his guest discussed the jump shot on their live stream last night. Both agreed Ausar does not need a 3PT shot to be a success. What he needs is a proper team around him. At least 3 other guys on the floor who can shoot that will spread the floor and let Ausar go to work. Giannis is a top 3 player in the league and averages 28% from three for his career. He can do that because he almost always has 3 or 4 guys on the court with him who can shoot. Lopez shoots 38%, Holiday 39%, Middleton 39%, Jingles 40% Allen 38%, Portis 37%, Carter 42% etc. etc. Defense goes zone to defend against Giannis, the shooters shoot over the top and bust the zone, defense is quickly back to man. I realize Giannis is an extreme example due to his freak size and athleticism. But you can do this with Fox, Ja, and others. What they did say Ausar needs is a 12 footer, maybe a little floater. He hits those shots and his defender has to come out away from the rim to defend him and it gives Ausar more room to work.

No schedule or roster yet. But the Las Vegas summer league starts July 7th.

Dallas had a night. They turned #10 and Bertans into #12, #24, and Richaun Holmes. They got a backup C in Holmes. Their probable starting C in Lively, who they probably would have picked anyway if they stayed at #10. And dumped that atrocious Bertans contract. $17M per for the next 3 years I believe, and he doesn't play. Trading him to OKC for no returning player created a $17M trade exception they can now use. It also dropped them out of the luxury tax. So instead of the much smaller taxpayer MLE they now have the full MLE to use.
