A 1st generation Chinese immigrant can't afford to live in AA, let alone open a business there. Go to poorer cities like Detroit/Pontiac/Flint/Jackson/Lansing and I bet you still can get good Chinese that isn't a chain. I know Battle Creek has 3 or 4 places like that.
