  1. I have no idea what he tried to do. There are online rumors, which I take with a grain of salt as to what he tried to do or who he offered in return for whatever players that were out there. The fact is he brought in two atrocious pitchers that lost games after game. He didn't accomplish anything to help the team win other than sit back and hope everything worked out for the best. Is it the best strategy? I have no idea but it didn't work out.
  2. He was unwilling to part with any prospects for the stretch run. His attitude seemed to be if the current team wins it will be in spite of me because I am keeping all the magic beans in the minors. It seems he only cares how the team will do when "his" guys get up to the majors and last year was an oops...we made the playoffs somehow. I don't agree with his philosophy but obvious he has his cheerleaders and detractors on here. He didn't do anything to improve the team at the beginning of last year and he hurt the team by picking up a perennial candidate for worst starter of the year in Paddock and a guy who has been washed up for 3 years in Morton at the trade deadline. Doesn't appear as if there is a priority to do anything for 2026 other than hope things somehow miraculously work out again.
  3. Those guys are toast. They can't hit mlb pitching. Sweeney might have a future as a utility player, but Jung's defensive liabilities limits his usefulness. If he isn't hitting he offers nothing of value. He only has one position: 3rd base. They already have Colt Keith, another guy who sucks defensively on the roster. Vierling will be in the running for 3rd base, if healthy. Plus all the younger prospects in the organization are going to jump ahead of them. If McGonigle is as good of a hitter as people think, he will force the Tigers hand to get up to the majors sometime next season. They will have to play him somewhere. I think Jung only makes the opening day roster if there are several injuries; he's just AAA depth. Sweeney might have a shot at the roster as the last utility guy because he can probably play multiple positions.
  4. Not sure if people just make stuff up or just repeat what other people say without actually knowing. Jung had .257/.377/.454 slash line in AAA in 2024. Not awful but not "well" Sweeney in AAA before 2025 slashed .267/.345/.450. Once again, okay but not eye opening by any stretch of the imagination. And he didn't contribute much to the 2024 Tigers playoff run. .218/.269/.373.
  5. Harris really hasn't done much to improve the current roster. Outside of the bullpen and Torres, all the players were guys that were already here when he took over. Things just kind of worked out for him so far. He gave minimal effort to try to improve the roster at the trade deadline. Having Sweeney and Jung as starting SS and 3rd baseman going into last season was just a terrible decision. His FA signings have been bad, his trades have been even worse. We'll see how his draft picks pan out. Having highly rated prospects isn't the same as having accomplished mlb players.
  6. How about starting 2025 out with Trey Sweeney and Jace Jung at SS and 3rd? Neither of those guys are even below average mlb players. That was inexcusable.
  7. Sure, it's fun and exciting following a team, but if it really affects someone's life when they lose, that person needs to take a step back. If you are smashing TVs or become depressed became a team lost...I just don't know what to say.
  8. In 2024 he made over $700 k. He can always find employment outside of baseball like everyone else does.
  9. Sorry if you are that fragile, but does it really make any difference in your life? If you say yes, then you have a very unfulfilled existence.
  10. The outcome of a game never has much of an impact on your life. People who go psycho over a group of professional athletes playing for millions of dollars really do need to re-assess their lives.
  11. Piss poor managing played a part in the loss. Schneider trying to prove how much smarter he is than everyone else. Sounds like a Tiger's manager.
  12. And the Dodgers had 2 WS stolen from them by the cheating Astros and Red Sox
  13. Giving up one of your 3 outs in that situation is idiotic. A guy on 2nd with no outs is much better than a guy on 3rd with 1 out. Similarly, I really hate watching McKinstry get thrown out at 3rd by his stupid ass base running, especially to make the final out of the inning.
  14. It's a good thing John Schneider took a guy who had been crushing the ball all night out of the game. Much rather have Kiner in there for a big at bat. Why do these managers always take out their best offensive players in close games? Proving once again that managers rarely make decisions that win games but sure do make decisions that contribute to losing games.
  15. If the Dodgers can't win this at least they will have Skubal as their ace in 2027.
  16. Tom Brookens aka Davis Schneider getting a pinch hit AB
  17. Aaron Glenn is probably the worst head coach in the league. He looks clueless on the sidelines. Not sure why he got a job in the first place but I'm happy he's gone.
  18. They just need to make it as painful as possible on Hurts when he does it. Bodies eventually wear out.
  19. People always like to throw out the they havent played anybody argument, but thay are beating NFL teams. If they win this week, they will have the same record as the Lions.
  20. Remember Mark McGuire? Drew Breese? And people....it's lose, not loose
  21. They'll have to look at some rule to give the hitters a better chance. These guys playing now are the best hitters ever. It's just that the pitchers are so much better now. In the 80s and 90s a lot of the pitchers playing back then wouldn't be in the league now. And the same is with most position players. I like it when people say stuff like imagine how valuable Tony Gwynn would be today. He would probably be a .275 hitter with no power... translation, he wouldn't be in the majors
  22. Skubal is making the decisions. Boras isn't calling the shots. This isn't like colonel Parker and Elvis. Skubal has a good idea of where he would like to play and that is where he will end up or he has a list of places and will select based on the offers
  23. Out of 8 seasons, this is Torres's 5th best year.
  24. I think worrying about blocking a 20 year old AA player with a mlb All Star is...yikes.
  25. Well, Skubal will get a chance to win the World Series as a Dodger, maybe as early as next season
