  1. Sweet...cherry picking a stat while ignoring his lack of power and defensive liability...very nice. And thanks for the juvenile personal insult...doesn't surprise me in the least though. And he's going to be 25 in August.
  2. It will snow during a game against the Cardinals in Detroit.
  3. Colt Keith is just a guy. He's not awful, he's not good. He would be the worst starting 1st baseman in the league...low power numbers, mediocre average, and terrible glove. And there is no way they are going to be moving Mcgonigle around to different positions. Playing in the majors is tough enough without getting moved back and forth from short to 3rd. It would seem that Javy will be at short and McGonigle at 3rd. Meadows has about 30 games left as a Tiger and then he'll be in Toledo and then an ex Tiger
  4. A lot of fans blame Boras and others for the sky high ticket prices and the inability of small market teams to compete with the big boys. Or they just want the owners to keep even more money.
  5. ...was my last pick in my fantasy draft. He will have a tough time cracking into the lineup,
  6. This is the correct answer
  7. Griffin is also only 19. He's 6-4 and 225 so he's a big dude. He absolutely crushes the ball when he hits it. Pirates will waste another generational talent. He will be a future Yankee.
  8. Sounds like he goes beyond 5 every game then.
  9. Parker Meadows and Colt Keith are guys that are easy to replace. If you are worried about hurting their feelings or moving a potential future star around to different positions to accommodate these guys, it's a bad decision. If McGonigle is your 3rd baseman, then he plays there 150 games a year.
  10. Nick Kurtz smashes 60 home runs this sesson.
  11. Are they going to blatantly try to manipulate his service time?
  12. Bill Almon was #1 overall. He was pretty mediocre for a long time. But at least he wasn't a scumbag like Matt Busch.
  13. 100+ wins will be tough with that offense.
  14. That was Gregg Jefferies back in the day. He was a shoo in for the HOF when he was a 21 year old rookie.
  15. Usually if you can't hit major league pitching and aren't anything more than an average defensive player, you aren't in anyone's future plan.
  16. Maybe more in line of Torey Lovulla.
  17. Had Slater played in the 80s, he would have been named Pat Sheridan.
  18. ...is the Chris Pitarro of the 2020's. Can we wait until he actually plays a game before we enshrine him in Cooperstown.
  19. Those beers are 3 or 4 ounces or something like that and the hot dogs are mini-2 biters. So it's kind of like drinking 2 beers and 3 hot dogs. I know some guys who could easily finish that off by the end of the first inning.
  20. It really is crazy that these guys can throw like that even into their mid 30s. I played one year in college and my arm was always sore and in pain and I wasn't even a pitcher.
  21. I don't believe Clemens threw as hard as Ryan, but he was a much better pitcher. He still had a lot of movement on his fastball. Johnson probably threw almost as hard as Ryan. At 43, he averaged 11.4 k/9. Ridiculous. Of course, you can make a very convincing case that Clemens was the greatest pitcher of all time. And Johnson was a top 5 of all time. Ryan was probably a top 30-40 pitcher of all time. Probably the best arm of all time though. Verlander has taken care of his arm but it's tough to trust a 43 year old to deliver on a consistent basis.
  22. There were these guys named Roger Clemens and Randy Johnson that played way back.
  23. If they did that to him, they should be fired ASAP. Give him a position and don't mess around with him. Don't screw around with your future star to accommodate AAA caliber players. That would be a Ron Gardenhire move, playing guys in a different position every game for reasons or something.
  24. McGonigle isn't going to make the team and be in a 3B platoon. No team is going to platoon the #2 prospect
  25. When I was 19 I played in a baseball league where everyone had to run off the field and run to their positions. 3 warm up pitches and the batter was in the batters box. You weren't allowed to step out of the box.
