  1. Would have been awesome to see Paadack vs Verlander. Vegas would have had to set the over at about 16.5 for runs scored. But if he shuts the Tigers down, they should just disband the team.
  2. Good thing he didn't try that on Odor. McRae would have been carted off on a stretcher. Plus McRae probably would have been hit with the ball straight in the face by the throw to 1st by a modern 2nd baseman.
  3. The last 3 years I have been critical of his roster construction. Harris has been pretty awful with his FA signings. He hasn't signed a mlb bat other than Torres. The offense was awful the last half of last season and he did nothing to change it. I'm not saying fire him but maybe he could do something to help the team score runs? It's too late to do anything of note this season so his plan once again is just hoping everything works out for the best
  4. It doesn't shake anything up. You would just be turning over the last roster spot which won't make much difference. The season is tied to Greene, Torkelson, and Carpenter. The Tigers are going to fail or succeed based on how those guys perform. They have no one to replace them with in the minors and if they all continue to suck, they end up in last place.
  5. He has some tough competition for ROY....Messick and Delauter are both off to really strong starts.
  6. He has some big shoes to follow...anything less than 6 runs in the first inning and he's above the bar.
  7. I mean, is Perez really going to vault the team to the top? Don't get me wrong, he has value but if Torkelson, Greene, Carpenter and the core continues to suck, a 4th outfielder isn't going to make much difference.
  8. Tigers on pace to finish 54-108 after they lose this one tonight along with 94 home runs. Skubal will be traded by mid-June. I know it's early, but if they do lose 100 games, who gets fired if anyone?
  9. Gunnar Henderson is 0.4 WAR, 4 HR, a 158 OPS+ but Witt still has a higher WAR? Seems deeply flawed almost like they just make stuff up depending on if they like the player or not.
  10. They have to give Greene, Carpenter, and Torkelson all the time they need to turn it around. There aren't any other guys in the organization that are 30+ home run hitters. There might not be any other guys who are 15+ home run guys. If those guys fail, the Tigers are punching their ticket to last place.
  11. I understand that it is meant for a whole season but for him to have 0.5 WAR after his performance so far this season seems ridiculous. How bad would a replacement player be? Javy Baez is -0.2 so far. There's really 0.7 difference between those guys based on what they have accomplished so far this season?
  12. I also honestly don't care what he does. I just gave my perception of him from his social media presence and comments he has made. He seems like he needs attention from everyone and anyone. Perception is reality to people.
  13. Sometimes WAR really doesn't seem like it makes sense. Bobby Witt Jr, .250 BA, .250 SLg, .603 OPS, OPS+ 80, 0 HR, 1 R, 3 RBI. After 11 games he is 0.5 WAR. That comes out to a 7.4 WAR for a season, which would have been the 5th best last season (and higher than his 7.1 from '25), tied with Cal Raleigh .250 average with no extra base hits all season with 14 runs scored are what his season totals would come out to be. Is that really that amazing?
  14. Clark also strikes me as the kind of guy who will get scammed out of most of his money and be homeless by the time he is 40.
  15. Replacing guys with a guy who has bounced back and forth from the majors to AAA and a 22 year old guy that was way over his head in spring training isn't like signing a solid major league hitter. These guys aren't going to have a massive impact on the lineup.
  16. I really wanted Harris to sign a bat but for the 3rd year in a row, Harris didn't think it was important. He has neglected the offense and thought it better to throw $13 million at a washed up Charlie Morton/Chris Paddack caliber pitcher for nostalgia reasons.
  17. With this offense, there's so much stress on a pitcher to be perfect every pitch because they have no wiggle room. Maybe should have signed a bat
  18. While im not a huge believer in Colt Keith, he's 24 and Hinch is already pulling him against lefties. I'd rather have him up there than Jones, a guy who has trouble hitting against everyone.
  19. It's tough to get better if you never get the chance. And it's not like Jones or whoever they throw in there are just all star caliber studs just hanging out on the bench.
  20. That's been a problem since Hinch got here. He would probably pinch hit for in their primes Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, and Barry Bonds if a lefty came in.
  21. 1 HR from their regular infield through 10 games. The lack of power from these guys is disturbing.
  22. I played from the age of 7 to 21. I played mainly SS and a bit of 2B and 3B and mainly OF my last few years i played. I had an infield and outfield glove. When I did play 3B I didn't feel comfortable using my SS glove there. And I certainly didn't want anyone else wearing my glove.
  23. All the punch and judy hitters in the lineup might have an edge in the cold weather.
  24. When they add another 8 playoff teams, they'll be playing forever. Mr. October....someone will be Mr. Thanksgiving soon.
  25. Glad your feelings were hurt. Arizona got humiliated.
