  1. I think it's all about expectations for this year. My personal expectations were 81-81 and maybe fighting for a wildcard spot in August/September.
  2. The amount of negativity here you would think we were the 03 Tigers not 1.5 games back from a wildcard spot 🙄.
  3. I know this is a joke but that was a show of speed to make that hit into a double. The throw was a rope and Clark still got there with time. I did notice it looks like the red and blue cleats though 😅.

  5. No because he basically had his pick of teams and there was no way he was coming to Detroit when he could play in California.
  6. This is what bothers me and honestly it probably shouldn't because let people be fans the way they want but it's this idea that there were these superstars out here that Detroit definitely could have signed but didn't because "the owners cheap" rather than face the reality of the situation that the past off-season didn't really have any difference makers and people would be all up in arms had they actually signed some of the players people were clamoring for (looking at you Matt Chapman) rather than the Urshela. I understand the frustration but there was no silver bullet this off-season besides Ohtani who was never coming here.
  7. Who should they have realistically signed this off-season?
  8. Keith will find his power. I'm not worried about that. I know people are tired of being patient but we still have over 100 games to play.
  9. I'll have to disagree with this at least for Urshela but people want to act like they did nothing to improve the team over the off season which is not true.
  10. I'll be honest I never followed that logic because if that was actually a thing all those years with Miggy we would have had a murderers row every year.
  11. What if I told you Keith has an OPS of almost .900 the last 15 games and he is 74th percentile in range for a 2B. He is still learning the position but let's not act like he's been terrible out there.
  12. Note to self: Canha and Urshela are not big league hitters 🙄
  13. OK I'll bite, outside of Seth Lugo the rest of their signings have been lackluster. Wacha 4.45 ERA Smith 7.63 ERA Renfroe .160 AVG .518 OPS Frazier .189 AVG .547 OPS Lugo 1.79 ERA So the signings outside of Lugo have been Baez and Maeda level in terms of performance. The Royals have benefited from Witt playing like an MVP, Salvador Perez finding the fountain of youth and Ragans, Marsh pitching well. They are not doing well because they "improved the team through FA".

  17. Not that I can find but hamstrings are fickle things.
  18. Some quick notes from Henning around farm injuries: ▶ Unsettling injury news at Lakeland: Josue Briceno, the 19-year-old catcher who has had a dynamic spring, is gone for an indefinite stretch with a sprained knee. Briceno was hitting .306/.405/.426//.831 in 28 games, with two homers, two triples, and three doubles. ▶ Ryan Kreidler, the Toledo shortstop who has been gone since last month after having finger surgery, is on the rehab trail, taking at-bats, and should before the end of the month be closing in on game appearances. Also taking back-fields at-bats: shortstop/infielder/outfielder Eddys Leonard. ▶ Brady Cerkownyk, who seemed on the way to becoming a heavy-hitting catcher and potential steal from last July’s draft (15th round), will be mending for the remainder of 2024 and into 2025 after having Tommy John surgery. Cerkownyk is a Canada native who played last year at Connors State College.

  20. I mean based on his height I'm guessing a size 10 1/2 or 11
  21. Honestly, I have been a bit hesitant with Jace mainly because that odd stance I worried about high velocity stuff but honestly have been highly impressed with him. High OBP with some power I'd love to have that batting 2nd in the lineup.
  22. What are the odds Flaherty's on the Tigers after the trade deadline?
  23. I think you may be underestimating Clark's speed, defense and hit tool. If McGonigle can stay at SS I would say it would be a harder conversation but that is not a guarantee. Clark's biggest concern is power which is understandable but that being said he's something like 10/10 on SB and has a .362 OBP at a premium defense position. Either way I'm glad they are both Tigers.
