  1. BA's Updated Mock https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2024-mlb-mock-draft-5-0-updated-first-round-picks-after-college-world-series/ 11. Tigers — Cam Caminiti, LHP, Saguaro HS, Scottsdale, Ariz. The Tigers continue to be heavily linked to Caminiti, and I see no real reason to move off this pick even with Nick Kurtz sliding out of the top 10 in this scenario. It sounds like Caminiti has really popped on a number of teams’ models, and he remains the favorite to be the first high school pitcher off the board.
  2. Also it is a weird week for the Minors. Usually Monday is an off day but looks like we are playing Today through Saturday with Monday and Sunday off next week.
  3. What a Skubal trade package would look like according to Woodbery and looks like he used the trade simulator as a check as well.

  9. I would disagree, in this particular draft the top 8-9 players are on another tier than the remaining players according to scouts. The biggest thing though with the MLB draft is the ability to leverage your bonus pool to float players from where they would normally get picked to a later pick by offering over slot if you go under on your 1st or 2nd round. You don't get that in other drafts in other leagues. That being said the MLB draft is a far more of a crapshoot for hitting on your selections.
  10. Agreed, throwing in a Troy Melton or Brant Hurter to help get the deal across would make a lot of sense.
  11. Average, not as good as 2023 but not as bad as 2024. Luckily for us we are picking outside of the top 10 this year so we are eligible for a top 10 pick in the lottery since it would have been too many consecutive years picking in the top 10 had we done so in 2024.
  12. I don't disagree but this was from Yankee beat writers so it's not like they had a bias to load it to the Tigers side.
  13. This is from the Yankees writer for the Athletic. Yankees get: RHP Jack Flaherty Tigers get: OF Everson Pereira, SS Oswald Peraza, RHP Clayton Beeter The Yankees could use another starting pitcher. It’s not their biggest need but adding Flaherty would give them another option if Luis Gil ends up seeing his workload reduced, or if Carlos Rodón’s poor underlying metrics continue to catch up with him and he becomes a less-trusted option. Flaherty has been one of MLB’s best strikeout artists this season and he’s massively improved his command compared to last year with St. Louis and Baltimore. The Tigers could use more power. Pereira is out for the season after undergoing elbow surgery. He should make a full recovery. When healthy, he has 20-plus home run potential if he can control the zone better. Beeter profiles as a reliever long term but the 25-year-old has started in the minors with the Yankees. — Kirschner Bowden: Based on what I’m hearing from opposing GMs, the Yankees are not looking to add another starting pitcher as they are happy with their group which includes Gerrit Cole, Gil, Rodón, Marcus Stroman, Cortes, and Clarke Schmidt. The industry believes if the Yankees trade from their farm system it will be to improve at second base, third base or in the bullpen.

  16. Obviously, this is just who would be the best fit but I'll take Cooper Pratt for Flaherty.
  17. Hopefully this is something minor
  18. I think that just comes with a bit more time. Lucky for us the FSL has done a good job of having some stadiums with Statcast ability so when you look for his Ofers there are usually some high EV balls that are hit at people. Rarely does it seem that he doesn't get ahold of one or two balls a game and gets some high velocity behind them and put them in play.

  20. That is an interesting take on trading Skubal. I am not a proponent of trading Skubal let me just start off by saying that but let's view it through a non-we've been rebuilding for 7 years lens. Skubal is a Boras-represented player with arm injury history as fresh as last year and is signed through 2026 I believe so 2 1/2 more years. If Baltimore comes to you and says hey we are willing to trade you Basallo, Mayo, and a couple of others off of their non-top 100 prospects which addresses your future at Catcher and 3rd Base and some possible other fliers. I would be hard-pressed to pass that up. I know people are going to say you have to get Holliday but assuming you couldn't the above would be hard not to say yes to. Pitching injuries can happen at any time and Skubal has not shown the durability of a JV or Scherzer so while he is a fantastic player there are absolutely scenarios in which I would trade him and it not be seen as a white flag at least in my eyes but rather a calculated risk move.
  21. That is a good question because Malloy is still here as well (not doing the best but for right now he is here) Canha is probably moved to 1B full time. Baddoo is the obvious candidate to go down but even with that it's a pretty full once Carp gets back. If Malloy doesn't turn it around he's the obvious candidate to send back down.
  22. Hunter Greene doing his best Beau Burrows impression.
