Does 'promotion' money have to be adding in as it accrues or do team's get a pass on that - i.e. for each day Montero spends with the Tigers he's getting the major league min instead of the AAA min?
Yes, Montero (for example) is on a split salary, and I assume (erroneously, but I have to draw the line somewhere) that the roster stays as is the rest of the year. I also don't have an exact amount for the medical benefits piece, or the cash deals (Faedo, Horn, Hicklen all were involved in undisclosed cash deals). To better answer your question though, Montero gets major league prorated split money ($736,700) days he is in the majors, minor league split ($201,770) in the minors.

Maeda and Margot made it 38. Foley could go on the 60 day IL for another spot.
Major League 60 Day IL would mean he accrues service time unnecessarily. Without a roster crunch at the moment, there's no need to do this. Baddoo makes it 39. When Rogers comes back, Nido is out of options and it will be back to 38. You still have Matt Manning in the wilderness begging for a DFA... One downside, in addition to the service time, is some time on the Major League IL this year would force the Tigers to put Foley on the Major League IL next year if he is still recovering in spring training.
Minor League 60 Day IL makes you not count against the 165 Man Reserve Limit. I've got that around 163 right now... but you can only put 15 guys on that list across the stateside teams and they are at 9. For players who are definitely out for the year with major injury/surgery, there's the Full-Season list, but you are limited on what workouts you can do with the team in that time, so you have to be careful there if he's going to be working back in September. The Full Season List does not count against the 165, nor the 15 guy limit. You still count against the 40-man, though.

Foley's 60day IL status changed with his season-ending surgery? It looks that way because he was on the 40 per the main website and not listed as injured.
No...
Margot and Maeda were removed.
If Foley is on the MINOR League 60, he doesn't count against the 165 man reserve list. Foley is still on the 7 day IL.

Funny I was just going through last year's draft and realized that Hill, Massey, and Swanson are all hurt, thinking I wish they used those picks on a less risky position type.

He will be the gift that keeps on giving if he keeps this up: worst case he bolts and is more than worthy of a QO and a comp pick.

Vierling played in right field yesterday. I assume the clock is ticking on Jace Jung.
He also didn't play the full game, and it was only his first game in the field. It sounds like they were wanting to use the full 20 days alloted when the assignment started last week. I don't think an activation is imminent until we have consecutive full games in the field. I could be wrong.

Well…it appears as though my hope of seeing Max Clark this week in Richmond will not come to fruition as he is still at High A. This week is the only trip Erie will make to Richmond. 😢
Promotions tend to happen on Tuesdays, but I would be surprised if we got a promotion train this week, particularly with outfield roster crunches upcoming at the upper levels.

He ended up going 1-2 with a double and a walk before being pulled for a pinch hitter. I'm guessing it was just for precautionary reasons cause I haven't seen anything that mentions him getting hurt.
Pretty typical for first few games of a rehab.

Johnny Kane has lost some weight, and it doesn't look like it's in the "he's been eating better" type. I hope he's okay and there's no big reason why he's part time now.

OTOH, though, if he doesn't start pitching with a little more consistency, the odds of him netting that draft pick will atart falling.
True, in terms of 2025 ROY, but a pre-arb Cy isn't out of the question, even if he falters a bit in the bigs.

Terreible HP ump didn't help - looked like Jobe let it get under his skin a couple of times - another thing he has to learn to get over.
And if that is something he needs help with, it ain't gonna happen in AAA where you have the challenge system in place.

This is great. Biggest holes are Jobe (Cobb coming back), CF (Vierling and/or Meadows) and SS (Sweeney playing much better of late). Keith also warming up which should help 1B/DH.
Wonder what happens to Brebbia? Underlying metrics weren’t great, is he an upgrade on Brieske?
Jobe isn't going down unless he really tanks (he gets a coors pass from me, especially with his high spin arsenal). Forfieting the chance of a draft pick would take him really reeling in the Bigs.

So, 40 man stands at 38 with the moves yesterday. Who gets added?
It will go down to 37 once Rogers is swapped in for Nido.
Cross that bridge when you get there, but Meadows seems primed to take one back when his day comes. Maybe a pitcher like Balazovich or Enns comes up at some point. Maybe a waiver claim... don't have to fill it right away.

Dan says it looks like Tuesday’s game in Denver will be rained out. So the guys will have two days off.
Once again, Montero is lined up to be on full rest for a Wednesday doubleheader.

No matter what anyone posts about her it gets met with hate. So weird.... You don't like her thats fine but why chime in everytime?
Wanna talk about weird? Insulting and celebrating the demise of all hard working federal employees on the other board. That's weird, and i stand by my response, and regret that I peaked behind the ignore shield here.

The Tigers have five 1st rounders on their roster and two 2nd rounders, if you include Parker who should be on the active squad.
I count eight 1st rounders and only one 2nd rounder.
1st: Baez, Flaherty, Greene, Jobe, Jung, Mize, Sweeney, Torkelson, (Lange, Madden IL)
2nd: Dingler, (Meadows IL)
Others throughout the system:
1st: Clark, Manning, Rainer, McGonigle
2nd: Anderson, Baddoo, Dingler, Graham, Hall, Jones, Pacheco, Scheffelbein, Unroe, (Cabrera restricted list)

[Emily Waldon of Tigers Minor League Report] Source: Tigers Matt Vierling has met Toledo on the road in Worcester. Being told he’ll get a few days of conditioning and is planning to DH Sunday to begin his rehab assignment.
She is such a bad writer, and probably just lifted that from McCosky.

Can anybody make sense out of this Newsweek repeat of a bleacher report article claiming the Tigers should acquire Luis Robert Jr. from the White Sox for much of the Erie pitching staff?
Newsweek has really really fallen off a cliff, is what I make of it.
Miller's on the IL. No idea the extent of the injury, but it's worth noting.

Hicklen: Major League Split (3 days, $761,000). Minor League Split (183 Days, $123,900)... But he's not really earning this, but it counts toward the CBT, he was acquired on a cash deal that I assume is the maximum ($100,000).
Kreidler: Major League Split (25 days, $764,900). Minor League Split (168 Days, $150,518).
Nido has a $1,500,000 major league split and a $225,000 minor league split. Just the contract he agreed to as a free agent, but time in the minors prior to being selected doesn't count toward CBT. If he gets outrighted, it will.
