  1. This is one of those games that you would expect they would lose even with a functioning offense. Even the best teams can have a bad start. But it just makes losing winnable games (such as last night's) even harder.
  2. Gotta start somewhere!
  3. I'll take that from Schoop... nice contact there.
  4. Does Candy have options left? I know Schoop doesn't...
  5. I dont want to be one of these guys who makes excuses, but there have been some good signs today. Barnhart looking more like the guy who was advertised, Robbie starting to get hot, Meadows mixing in more extra base power into his game. But they really need better production out of 4 and 5. Nothing is holding this team back more at the moment.
  6. Not a bad half inning at all, unfortunately they have not cashed in much before that...
  7. No doubt... could be rather that the high of his 3000 hit gave them a jolt that they wouldn't ordinarily have.
  8. Lol, that's what I get for compliments
  9. Credit where credit is due, he's having a good day today
  10. There's an emotional element of Miggy's accomplishment... maybe a bit of a hangover from that
  11. I'll stick with my 82 wins. Maybe even that's too optimistic, we will see.
  12. I dont have a problem with playing Haase in left. But at some point, you have to move Tork up in the lineup. I get that he's a rookie and you're trying to protect him some, but if the goal is to win ballgames, its the right thing to do.
  13. Despite my last post, I do agree with this. There is still long range risk.
  14. Can I just say that the western press did an absolutely terrible job covering this election? Marine Le Pen did close the gap some by the runoff in head to head polling, but first round polling underestimated Macron and Macron gained a good 5-7 points in polls in the interregnum between the first round and second round. I know I will get the usual comments about complacency and whatnot, but once things started moving against her after round one, her goose was cooked. Yet you wouldn't have known it from how the Times covered it.
  15. Signing Pineda could potentially be as big as trading for Meadows... so many people seemed content rolling with just Alexander. David Cone said on one of the ST Yankee Tiger broadcasts that you need at least 7 starters in today's game. Glad they are thinking more about depth instead of concerning themselves too much about how to pencil guys in.
  16. Big win... polls underestimated Macron yet again!
  17. OK, if Barnhart gives you a double with no outs, then you HAVE to score him guys
  18. Sure. The lack of walks out of the current bullpen (while being down Cisnero and Funk) has been telling. Part of why I'm not sure the bullpen is totally flukish... these fact that the current composition fills the strike zone helps keeps the runs down one would think. We will see how it evolves as offense heats up around the league
  19. Will make G2 and Casimir happy... 🙂 And maybe someone like Will Vest or Jacob Barnes too lol
  20. Hes baaaack
  21. It will also move Schoop/Candy down the order as well. Just wish he'd consider putting them behind Tork at the moment. It stands to reason that would benefit the team at the moment
  22. At this rate, Grossman is gonna need to learn 2B when Riley Greene gets back 🤣
  23. I will say that this is at least the second time this season that the Tigers have lost a game only giving up 3 hits. Unless there is a boatload of walks, that hurts.
  24. I love DD and all, but I can think of better guys in that situation than Harold Castro lol Overall, I would be more mad, but they had multiple opportunities to put numbers on the board earlier that didn't get cashed in. Cash just one of those in, maybe the game turns out differently. Kudos to the pitching for giving them a chance at the end
