  1. And just like that.... Tying run to the dish
  2. Torkelson homer aside, better ABs afterward. Hope it transfers to the next series
  3. Finally, something to be happy about!
  4. Wily Peralta can't get here fast enough....
  5. Just hope it doesn't last as long as April 2021. Haven't seen a lot of good signs so far... the dearth of competitive ABs is pretty frustrating.
  6. This inning is sort of a microcosm of how things just haven't gone the Tigers way early this year.... hard hit single through the hole on the left side (Tigers can't buy one of those so far this season), poor conditions leading to a poor throw on an inning ending ground ball, all of which help fuel a big inning for the Sox.
  7. Wheels just fell off for ERod. Dang.
  8. Schoop didn't miss on the cement-mixer slider! Just hold the lead long enough for the game to be official boys lol
  9. They may not get it all in, but if they are starting this game, they clearly want to get an official game out of this
  10. Red Sox have an off day tomorrow and Tigs don't play until 7 CDT tomorrow, so wouldn't be surprised if they try to fit in with delays to avoid having to shoehorn another date in later in the season.
  11. Parker playing like he wants to join his bro sometime in the future
  12. Hutchison and ERod are my two picks for Peralta/Pineda because of their profiles as long relievers (ie. Peralta is gonna fill that role, Pineda is a starter). As you suggest, Chafin plus the roster trimming means each of the three relievers you mention (Foley, Barnes, Vest) are likely on thin ice, depending on what they do with the bench. Of those three, I'd keep Vest, but would expect that the Tigers prefer Foley given that he made the club relatively early
  13. Acquiring Austin Meadows looks better and better every day
  14. My guess is Peralta replaces Hutchison, Pineda replaces Elvin Rodriguez, and Foley/Barnes/Vest are competing to not be cut whenever Chafin comes back. At the end of the month, they lose two roster spots, even those who stick around could be gone by then as well.
  15. Exactly.... the bullpen is probably gonna take the bulk of the heat for today. And yeah, the job is to hold the lead and they didn't finish the job. But the quality of the plate appearances late in that game just weren't good enough, especially for a team that purportedly has designs on making noise in the division. The game felt over the moment 6th ended, not in the 8th. It's all a small sample size and eventually they will break out of it, but still frustrating nonetheless.
  16. Yes and no. Because at some point, you have to score more runs. 3 runs per game isn't a recipe for success, regardless of how the pen pitches.
  17. Haase really angling for more playing time...
  18. Andrew Chafin will (hopefully) be back soon enough lol
  19. This is a pretty good idea.... Either way, it's a really good problem to have.... hopefully means no more emergency starts from Hutchison and less bullpen days going forward lol
  20. Nice problem to have... any advantages to a 6 man rotation early on?
  21. Tork off the schneid!
  22. +/- on Dan Dickerson messing up Austin Meadows' name today? edit: i'll take the under
