  1. Multiple runs! Me likes!
  2. I don't either. When I read that (or saw it) I just shook my head about how silly it was/is. I'm not a fan of working the count either. It's been known for about 100 years that hitters have better results when up in the count. Harris didn't discover something new.
  3. Perez started our hot but cooled off being around Canha. Hey, I'm joking. You guys don't have to throw a ton of stats at me!
  4. A genius programming idea. Todd Jones and company on a frigging roller coaster!! Todd came off looking a bit green around the gills. Now he knows how we felt every time he came in for a save...🤣🤣
  5. I think his second one went deeper. Same general area though. I know they said he ran really fast on the 1st one because he didn't know if it was out. The 2nd one, he stood there and admired it.
  6. So Jake hit 2 home runs yesterday and has 20 to 30 family members and friends at the game? Better sit him, make it fair for Texas. And good call about Javy, he sits;
  7. These late start times are ridiculous. The Tigers expect us to sit around all night waiting for a game to start? Don't they know we have better things to do? It's a lucky thing that I never complain...😅😅
  8. A guy on Twitter wrote a good article asking what if Tork doesn't get fixed down in Toledo? Will the Tigers cut bait? It's an eye opening question and it questions the Tigers ability of developing hitters.
  9. It's how all management works. Even Harris. Remember when the Tigers said one of the reasons they got Canha was so the young players would learn from his approach? Yeah, Meadows and Tork shipped out, Keith struggled for the first 8 weeks or so. Which player has benefited from Canha's high OBP? Javy? Lol...I don't think so.
  10. We don't play the games on a computer. <Jim Leyland>
  11. I remember when we first acquired Cabrera (2008?) Many fans predicted 1000 runs. I think we finished in last place? It's baseball, you just never know.
  12. I remember he was being interviewed and was asked why he did something when the stats were very strong against him. His reply was something like "we don't play the game on a computer." Classic old school...
  13. Yeah, Javy is way overpaid. But he has more to offer than Tork. His defense can be amazing. And he's an above average baserunner. The only thing that irritates me is his wild swings against sliders 3 feet outside. Oh, and high fastballs. But in fairness, that gets a lot of hitters.
  14. Agreed. If he really is stubborn, 6 hour bus rides may help him open his eyes. But I hope for the best, we really need his effective bat in the lineup. Or to at least know where we stand so we can pursue a 1st baseman.
  15. In a Free Press article this morning, it said Tork refused to modify his swing. He thinks the same swing that worked at college would work at the MLB level. I guess he may change his mind? "But Torkelson has been reluctant to change his swing since the Tigers drafted him No. 1 overall in 2020. The mechanics of his swing don't look any different than when he arrived for his MLB debut more than two years ago. Torkelson has never admitted he needs to change his swing. Many times, even in the darkest days of his rookie season, Torkelson has talked about how much he believes in his swing. It's the swing that got him here."
  16. Catchers framing pitches may become a thing of the past with robot umps.
  17. Great pitching...3-2 so far on a tough 7 game trip. Outstanding.
  18. He's in line for the win, I think?
  19. Foley for the 9th?
  20. 1.97 ERA now. Offense didn't do him any favors.
  21. Skubal getting behind hitters. Tired?
  22. He's on the radio? I figured that. Todd Jones stutters. Not good in an announcer...and he needs to shut up.
  23. Todd called for a high fastball or a slider for a 3rd strike against Javy. The whole world knows how to pitch him. He got the high fb and wiffed.
