  1. I bet it means more to the players. Bragging rights!!
  2. But most impact players want a much longer than 2 year contract. The only players you'll get on a 1 or 2 year deal are players who need to prove they deserve a loooong contract.
  3. So how come you hated Candelario? 🤣🤣
  4. Who has he helped develop that gives you such confidence in him?
  5. And I really dislike this "working the count" philosophy. I've known for 50 years that players have a higher BA with a 2-0 count over an 0-2 count. It's common, basic baseball.
  6. This is very accurate. People are happy with his draft choices? Get back to me in 2 or 3 years. I'm not sure Avila was the problem, it very well may be Chris' cheapness? Well see this off-season with Miggy's $30 million coming off the books. Will Chris just bank that money or invest it in the team? Stay tuned...
  7. It must really bother all the Avila haters that many of his drafted players are coming of age and showing promise of contributing. As for Harris? Letting Candelario walk and replacing him with Maton clouds all of my other opinions of him. Yes, I like Vierling, at least in RF. I'm afraid he's the odd man out though, it's not like we can tolerate his weak play at 3rd base because we need his bat. And some of his relief pitchers don't belong in the majors...Cisnero and Vasquez. Yeah, Avila guys but Harris got rid of a few other Avila players. I still don't understand how a rebuilding team can keep a 34 year old Cisnero on the roster. We're stuck with Harris for a few years, at least. Hopefully, he won't make us wish for the better days of AL Avila...
  8. The Yankees are really hot. Beware.
  9. It was a no-doubter the second he made contact....that noise!! A Tork Bomb.
  10. I wonder if they'll use a play that's a direct snap to him? A quick hitter. With Ben Johnsons play calling and designing, it wouldn't surprise me.
  11. Was he talking trash? (Again?). The guy is going to be a FA but his immaturity will cost him millions of dollars.
  12. I remember a game when Ibanez had 2 home runs and was lifted for a PH. Doesn't make a lot of sense...
  13. Lange really tried to blow it but the WSox are SO bad....
  14. The problem with having Nevin on the roster is Hinch will use him. The guy should be the last man on the bench, only here in case of injuries.
  15. From what that article says, yes, if the Tigers put him on the IL, it would count towards the 6 days he needs.
  16. I didn't mean a game they're not even airing. I meant the Tigers, Pistons and Wings.
  17. Shhhh..Ohio is listening...lol
  18. Why am I paying Xfinity all this money for cable TV and then listening to UM football on the radio like it's 1975 or something? All this Commiecast crap is going back on Monday. I'll just stream my sports. Does anyone stream Bally Sports? Can you record the games?
  19. It sounds like Spenser Turnbull really doesn't want to play in MLB with the Tigers. He's stinking up Toledo and says his toenail is hurt. No good, the Tigers aren't putting him on the IL. He's days short of having a full year of service time and the IL would put him over. Making him a FA if the Tigers want to send him down (if he's ever even gets called up) and also giving him free agency a year sooner. I say trade him to Pittsburgh and watch him suck there. Too bad, I thought the Tigers had a decent SP in him. "The timing of the optional assignment is critical, as well. Turnbull is six days away from reaching five years of Major League service time — the point at which a player gains the right to refuse an optional assignment to the minor leagues. The Tigers could have conceivably given Turnbull one big league start to see how he fared before making a decision on whether to option him, but even making two starts in the Majors would’ve resulted in him gaining the ability to decline when the team tried to option him. That service time is also worth keeping an eye on for club control purposes; if Turnbull gains even six more days of MLB service this year, he’ll be eligible for free agency following the 2024 season. If he remains in Triple-A, he’d be controllable through the 2025 campaign." https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/08/tigers-reinstate-spencer-turnbull-from-60-day-il-option-him-to-triple-a.html
  20. I know. It's why I was wondering if anyone heard different? The Tigers probably didn't expect him to do so well. It really wouldn't surprise me if they shut him down.
  21. With just six weeks left in the Major League season, Meadows will remain under the 45-day limit for players to retain rookie qualification for next season. The only way he would lose that would be if he exceeded 130 MLB at-bats this year, an unlikely scenario with just 38 games left. https://www.mlb.com/news/parker-meadows-tigers-callup
  22. When he came up, there was discussion about retaining him rookie status next year by limiting his at bats.
  23. What's the deal with Meadows at bats? Are the Tigers going to limit his appearances?
  24. The JV-Miggy match-up was cool. Anti-clamatic but cool.
