Boyd hasn't pitched deep into games. Get into the Cleveland BP by the 4th inning. We need a late lead to prevent their late inning BP from shutting us down.

Yes, it's been done but not nearly as often as the Tigers did it. When you only have 2 starting pitchers, you don't have much choice. Hinch may not have invented using BP games but he also didn't have much choice. But most baseball people agree that it won't work for a 162 game season.

That sounds good but if Cleveland beats our BP after Skubal departs, we lose for sure. Score 6 or 7 runs and make it an easy win. A LH SP against us stinks, though.

Playing the infield in in the 1st inning leads to a big inning. That stat doesn't lie.

But instead of giving the Tigers credit, he just read off the Houston players who failed. Yeah, the runs they scored were on a fielders choice and a foul pop-up. Credit goes to Tigers pitchers and AJ for pushing all the right buttons.

Well, yeah. The run they're on has them playing what... .720 ball or better? No team can keep that up. And BP days over an entire season probably won't work. I would take their needs a bit further, say they need 2 starting pitchers, at least 1 more BP arms and a quality RH bat.

The first game will be a problem for Cleveland. Teams that have a long wait usually come out cold. Their hitters timing is off. Steal game 1 and have Skubal for game 2. Come back to Detroit up 2 games to none!

I heard many Lions players had 2 games circled...Seattle and Dallas. I agree, were going to handle them. Also, they have some defensive injuries. Demarcus Lawrence will be out. And Micah Parsons may still be out next week. Those are pretty big losses for their defense. I don't think the Lions will risk Ragnow. He will probably be out a few more weeks. We'll want him for the rest of the season so why risk turning a partial tear of his pec into a full tear? And....this early bye week sucks.
