  1. Speaking of Rosie...what a character; " In October 2006, Sports Illustrated selected Rozema as one of the "10 Greatest Characters in Detroit Tigers History". His selection was based on (1) the "karate kick" misfire, (2) a subsequent injury the same year in which Rozema fell on a flask in his back pocket and needed 11 stitches in his hip, (3) an incident in which he shoved a bar glass into the face of teammate Alan Trammell resulting in 47 stitches near Trammell's eye, (4) missing a team bus when he overslept after judging a wet T-shirt contest, and (5) using Brillo pads to wash his new car.[16] On July 9, 2008, the minor league team in Rozema's home town, the West Michigan Whitecaps, gave away an unusual promotional item, "Dave Rozema Karate Kick Bobbleleg" figures." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Rozema
  2. You and Rozema share birthdays. Cool.
  3. Minimum 3 hitters in today's new and improved game.
  4. Only another 10 years or so...it would have won the Tigers a trade. Him and Candy for Avila and Wilson. But wasn't meant to be...
  5. Giving the Lions lots of love on NBC tonight. With higher expectations comes greater disappointment.
  6. I've watched game 17, in Green Bay, a few times. Watching Rodgers lose NEVER gets old! 😅😅
  7. Annual Hall of Fame game tonight to open the 2023 preseason!
  8. Hopefully the article I read last year was accurate. Sounded like he was a "can't miss" prospect. Pretty young and raw but a lot of potential. The only downside they could come up with was his young age. When I saw his stats this season, I thought he was either hurt or playing with older and more established players. Thanks for the update!
  9. That play in the last game is a great example. What appeared to be a wide receiver screen with Brown laterally the ball to our running back. An amazing play that even surprised the announcers. Drawn up and executed perfectly.
  10. I remember reading a very positive article last year about a very young shortstop in the Tigers organization. Christian Santana. Looking up his stats this season, he doesn't look like he's doing very good. Is he playing against older players?
  11. If he pitches this good and stays healthy and then opts in, his contract would be a bargain. It would have to make him very valuable. At least, IMO.
  12. Harris said during an in-game interview that the Tigers had acquired a 2nd player. But this is the first info I've read about him.
  13. I hope one of those teams fall one game short of the playoffs. Or advancing in the playoffs.
  14. Craig said the league has the book on him now.
  15. Ladies and Gentleman...Boys and Girls.....it's the Zack Short Show...😃
  16. I agree. Long term contracts can hinder a team. But it's the market now. If you want quality veteran arms, you'll have to pay them the going rate.
  17. The Tigers only hope is for him to not optout and help lure a couple of quality free agents here with all the money coming off the books. So, keep Rodriguez, find some players to come here, spend the necessary money. We'll see where the bottleneck appears. Was it Ivan Rodriguez or Magglio that helped the Tigers get some other players aboard?
  18. And too many people confuse a division title as a pennant. Winning the pennant means winning the American League.
  19. This, right here, is the post ot the year! Congratulations!
  20. Plus any player we don't give a QO to.
  21. Baez, Cabrera, Lorenzen and ERod were/are possibly coming off the books. More money into Chris' pocket?
  22. How much of our current payroll must we shed before we can offer good players contracts? Nobody will want to come here if we don't offer them a competitive contracts.
  23. Sure do. Maybe ERod saved us from a horrible deal and doesn't plan to opt out?
