Yeah, because of the short spring training and trying to get 162 games in before it starts snowing. : ( . I still don't like it. But at least we don't have little league, 7 inning games for DH.
Ghost runner is all set for extra inning again this season. And rosters will be extended to 28 players for the first month or so. Does the rule RP having to face at least 3 hitter still stand? I don't like it.
Also, Alexander may need to start if one of our pitchers is ineffective. Alexander's numbers were better as a SP and I was hoping he would have a chance to start. I'm sure he'll get a handful of starts this season.
The problem is keeping them stretched out. A 4 or 5 outing once every 10 days or so might not be enough. Keep Peralta in Toledo, starting and call on him first, when needed. Even though I think this was already the plan.
Playing out of position is always fun. It's hard enough being good at one position but forcing a player to play multiple positions doesn't always work out. But it's fine, that's what spring training games are for.
True, but don't forget we had Mize, Skubal and Manning on strict pitch counts. Plus we used Norris for a few 5 inning starts. This year, these guys are off the leash. Go ahead, give us 7 innings...😅😅
But wouldn't it also cause them to not allow 2 rookies to make the team in the same season? Greene wins ROY this season, extra picks. Torkelson wins ROY in 2023, extra picks. Hmmmmm
I hope he does it in Detroit this season.
Is there enough games to stretch out our SP this spring? Maybe they should have allowed an expanded roster for the 1st 2 or 3 weeks?
