    And a good citizen. Kept his nose clean and a great family man. I really, really don't care if it costs us a few spots in the draft, Matthew will always be a Detroiter. He's said many good things about Detroit and I can see that continuing.

    Agreed. And I'm sure the players union would agree. More major league jobs. Extend careers. More runs scored. It all adds up to a win win situation.

    Yeah, it's true. Take the bat out of a kids hands for several years and then have him get drafted by a NL team. Several years later, after he becomes a top pitcher, give him a $500 million contract. Then watch him bat and break a leg tripping over 1st base. But hey...the rules are from the 1800's. We would never try to improve the product. 😁😁

    I'm glad you don't make the rules. Baseball can be very boring at times, watching a pitcher try to hit is the best time to use the bathroom. 😆

    I appreciated the Kansas City baseball fans giving Miggy a Standing O when he came off the field, having clinched his Triple Crown. And their park looks really nice and people I respect say how nice it really is. But their football teams fans have that questionable racist Indian war chant that really gets on my nerves. I only want Cincy to win to stick it to the Lions. 😄😄

    Lottery, casinos, and now sports betting? What is the government going to legalize next? Prostitution? It's all about bringing in tax dollars from people who can't afford to lose/spend it. Talk to any mental health professional and they can give you case after case of the destruction of families over gambling. Even the socially accepted lottery.

    Actually, there was a time when teams would get into an 8-8 slump. Not good enough for the playoffs and not bad enough for good draft positioning.

    We could have had the #1 pick for the last 60 years. It's either win the Super Bowl or tank. Make a total mockery of the whole league. Every non-contending team trying to lose every week. That sounds like a good way to destroy the league.

    All game long, an NFL team fights to get the ball. To just give it away, especially a team with a bad defense, doesn't make sense. I know this is the trend with most teams, but I just don't like it. If my team had a top 5 defense, it would make a bit more sense. But the Lions defense against Rodgers? No, I would try to limit his touches.
