  1. He has hit several balls well but right at defenders or just gotten slightly under them. The ABs are still pretty good overall
  2. I don’t know if I like Dirks ripping me off….
  3. Replace the Little Caesar’s glove hole in the left field bullpen with a giant Beth Bernstein face. If a Tiger hits a home run into her mouth hole everyone in the stadium gets a free Mistrial Guarantee Card for their next DWI charge.
  4. Loving the BB rates with our top guys. You can see why Harris went after these guys specifically. The approach has shifted that way in Detroit with some guys and you can tell how much of a difference it makes to the overall offense.
  5. Keith going down and McKinstry playing 3B with Ibanez as the backup 1B/2B/3B and an outfield rotation of Green, Vierling and Carp/Malloy/Javy seems like the best option once we get to that roster crunch. Margot can just be released or DFAd once he’s back.
  6. I think Keith goes down when Vierling gets activated unless he just goes on a tear in the next week or two. We need the OF depth so keeping Malloy makes a little more sense—plus the RH bat is useful. Then we can start using McKinstry as the true utility guy instead of in RF where he has been a lot lately and we can get Javy back at SS/3B (even though he’s been pretty darn good in CF). As of now, it’s hard to get Riley a day off without sacrificing really good defense.
  7. Maeda isn’t gonna get dropped off the team until Cobb is back at the earliest, if at all. Otherwise he wouldn’t have even made the team otherwise. Cobb coming back could move into that long relief role. So could Montero. Then there’s whatever the timetable is for Brieske and Brebbia to return. If Guenther and Lee continue to pitch well, these guys becoming healthy will eventually force their hand on Maeda. if we added a bat at a deadline trade, who would go down off the roster would probably depend. Is Meadows back and healthy? Is Keith improving at all? Is Malloy hitting? Who already went down for Vierlings return?
  8. Depends on what we are getting in return. Overall I’d say Rainer—furthest away and the most unknown trajectory as of now
  9. He threw four fastballs outside of the left handed batters box and hit a right handed hitter. He’s cooked. Burnt even.
  10. Throwing it to the backstop….
  11. If we sit Maeda through a three game in two days stretch where every other reliever has pitched and we have a 7 run lead at the end of the last game—-then he should just be outright released.
  12. Nice inning Guenther! Can definitely go at least one more
  13. In this situation I’d be ok with Skubal at least starting the 7th inning
  14. Say his name and he appears! I believe in McKinstry!
  15. Agreed. You can look at all the statistics you want, but the defenders still have to execute. The throw needs to be good and the infielder still has to catch it/hold onto it and make a tag. There’s a lot that can potentially go wrong with all of that- as we saw with that Javy play
  16. Javy is a menace on the basepaths
  17. I feel like Keith is going to Toledo when Vierling is back. They’re barely playing him
