  1. I did see an unknown amount is deferred.
  2. Of course it's great for Bregman. Unless he has a great year he's not opting out though.
  3. 3/120, wow. His lifetime ops at fenway is 1.200, so there's that. But wow
  4. Recent card purchases (I also collect non-sport) 1935 Goudey 4-in-1 Tigers 1929 Navin Field postcard 1942 Gum, Inc James Doolittle 1933 National Chicle Skybirds Red Baron 1911 T201 double folder Nap Lajoie
  5. The Angels have been pummeled by injuries and longterm contracts
  6. John Paciorek, best batting stats in MLB history (minimum 5 plate appearances). https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/p/paciojo01.shtml
  7. I do think many more teams are avoiding longterm contracts and Boras hasn't seemed to adapt. Alonso is case in point. It will be interesting to see what happens with Skubal. If he stays healthy he'll get a huge deal, but I doubt many teams will be in on what Boras will ask. If Skubal continues to improve I could see the starting ask to be 9/400
  8. Angels sign Kenley Jansen https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/02/angels-sign-kenley-jansen.html
  9. On Tigers territory podcast they said fangraphs projects Bregman's age 33 season to be .241 with 17 home runs and 2.1 war. Basically Vierling. Of course that's projection and who knows. Fangraphs also projects he would increase Detroit's playoff probability in 2025 by 12%. To me 6 years seems crazy. Let's see what Jung can do
  10. Nice article on Ethan Schiefelbein, Detroit's comp balance pick at #72 last year https://www.blessyouboys.com/2025/2/9/24360009/detroit-tigers-prospects-ethan-schiefelbein-scouting-report-mlb-pipeline
  11. I'm going to meditate my consciousness into an alternate universe today where both the Eagles and Chiefs will lose. And there is always all-you-can-eat pad thai within arm's reach
  12. Thanks - will definitely watch it this eve
  13. I've seen a few interviews with Bregman over the years. He is a very confident guy. Feels he is the best player. I think the holdout is more about his wanting to top 200 mil. More an ego thing.
  14. Was just looking at Arenado's stats and see how he's regressed over the past 2 seasons at ages 32 and 33. I doubt Harris will offer anything over 4 years for Bregman. Maybe 4/110 with opt outs. Astros owner said again today their offer remains on the table. I can't believe he's not taking it if it truly is 6/156
  15. One mustn't underestimate the impact of the alp horn
  16. Love the deal - improves odds with their window with Skubal
  17. Nice Slaton reference. Still mad the Tigers lost Benji!
  18. He also plays the Alp Horn. 7 tools
  19. Very encouraging about Clark. Probably the best Tigers farm in decades. Who else was coming up when they had Maybin and Miller?
  20. Not even a toy bullpen car https://www.ebay.com/itm/356273065749?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=9QQjqESrRxy&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=kqHvYtTeTyS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  21. Sitting on a tack. Not fun.
  22. I'm not sure what a fin is, but I'd be open to a friendly wager for a 1970s bullpen car, any team will do.
  23. I always wanted Wile E Coyote to catch the roadrunner, just once.
  24. The Dodgers are preparing to lure Fetter.
  25. I'm optimistic about the Tigers and am more confident in sustainable quality baseball. Part of me is still braced to lose Skubal, eventually Greene, etc. There hasn't been a situation yet to offer huge contracts. I suspect we'll see more Colt Keith like contracts. But I also think we as fans will also see any superstars move on following team control. Have to wait and see. Morris, Lou, Tram and Parish would have all past team control just prior to 1984. Different era altogether. Hot dogs are the same.
