  1. They are both Mister Right Now.
  2. That's fair. I'd like to see him show up just to do whatever his job as special assistant to the president of baseball operations is.
  3. I can relate. I similarly roll my eyes whenever someone complains about something or someone being "woke", or about "cancel culture", or "identity politics", or "cultural Marxism", or "critical race theory" ...
  4. Or they could say, or be advised to say, don't tell me where the money comes from. The less you actually know, the better chance you have in court.
  5. I would guess the indictment is giving plenty of details. Or are you looking for a non-Deep State source?
  6. We may never see that guy in Detroit ever again, with the possible exception of his Hall of Fame induction year.
  7. I was there. I know how "'sup" sounded.
  8. I wish it wasn't Bowden.
  9. Would you like to commit six-plus years to Willy Adames?
  10. Billionaires need an uneducated population to sweep the floors and like it.
  11. There is no way he hasn't already divested through proxies, is there?
  12. Lol, this is classic! https://apnews.com/article/russian-interference-presidential-election-influencers-trump-999435273dd39edf7468c6aa34fad5dd "After the indictments were announced, both Pool and Johnson issued statements on social media, which Rubin retweeted, saying they were victims of the alleged crimes and had done nothing wrong." Yeah, they were the victims of receiving millions of dollars and blowing it on pole dancers and molly.
  13. I think we are closing in on the stage where Republican politicians and voters finally admit that yes, Russia is helping them, but it's all in the service of Making America Great Again, because Russia is a white Christian country just as we are.
  14. I would bet real money that if the Tigers had offered him four years and the Giants offered him three before this past season, he still would have taken the Giants. He's from California, his family is there, and the Giants were regarded as being closer to playoff contention than the Tigers were. If the perception of the Giants' and Tigers' competitive situations were flipped, that might have been a tougher call for him.
  15. People who are all in emotionally on crosses and flags probably can't even fathom the idea of someone lying about their own devotion to it. It might strike them as literally impossible, as though anyone trying to lie about love for Jesus and America would turn into a pillar of salt a la Genesis 19.
  16. I have no knowledge one way or the other. but I think I'd be surprised if Chris fetter were offered a big league managing job anytime soon. We know he's a wizard with a pitching staff, but we don't know whether he can handle a whole team. After all, he didn't even do that at Michigan, or anywhere else for that matter. There's a reason no one offered Leo Mazzone a managing job, either.
  17. I'm pretty sure Chapman, nor anyone else for that matter, saw signing Flaherty as the last piece needed for the Tigers to make the playoffs, and I think the only way Chapman would have signed here was if practically no one else made him an offer.
  18. Apropos of something, I feel as though anyone who rocks an American flag in their Twitter handle or in their tweets are trying to throw off the scent in clumsy and obvious fashion.
  19. Makes sense. There was no way Fox and Hannity were going to take a chance on a rogue questioner.
  20. I think the next steps might be (1) sign two pitchers to longish-term contracts, like, three years, a starter and a reliever who fit the system but are undervalued in the marketplace—I have no names as of yet; (2) find a hitter who also fits the system and will sign a two-year deal to be a placeholder or a flip piece as we wait for lower-minors prospects to gel; (3) prepare Jackson Jobe to make his major league debut at some point next season.
  21. This just landed with me—Chapman pitches as well? How did I miss that?
  22. Maybe Harris did make an offer. Not saying Chapman wouldn’t have been a good fit for the team, but at the time, there was nothing in Detroit for him to come here for, neither on or off the field.
  23. I wonder what Sartori and Menzin’s actual roles are in the organization? I thought maybe they’d be given the gate, but maybe they accepted substantially different roles in the organization from analytics. They are listed as “Vice President, Assistant General Manager” under Baseball Operations Leadership, but nowhere under Baseball Operations as it relates to analytics, performance science, or anything else, but I haven’t seen either of them representing the Tigers in the press or anywhere else. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn they have guaranteed contracts and have been offered title and a reduced role while the contracts are in force. But if I had to place a bet, it would be that neither of them have an active role in analytics anymore. By the way, on the front office web page, guess whose name is nowhere to be found? Hint: Special Assistants to the General Manager - Kirk Gibson, Willie Horton, Jim Leyland, Lance Parrish, Mike Russell, Alan Trammell
  24. lol yeah he was never coming to Detroit
