  1. Refs will just turn them off like police do!
  2. Is Vegas taking bets on which country Trump is going to die in?
  3. I hate being the foil for hero games.
  4. This is the most Lions way to **** that up
  5. Where’s the poll? All NewsNation links to is the DailyMail.com, which, they might as well link directly to youngs-fearing Newsmax. And even there, there is no link to any poll itself, only an infographic with purported results. I’m asking because I want to know who these people are. I’ve got a sawbuck that says there’s no way this was a rigorously-conducted survey.
  6. That’s funny, but in all seriousness, there is not enough luxury in Siberia or South America to attract a fleeing Trump. But there sure is in UAE, Qatar, or Kuwait, and he’ll still have complete access to his benefactor in Moscow.
  7. He's never going to prison, and the area of the world he would flee to would have "East" in it, not "South".
  8. You were far from the only one. It wasn't even you coming to mind.
  9. There are ways around the anti-slavery protections of the 13th Amendment: just throw ‘em all in prison. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
  10. There was a good deal of that very thing on the old MTS board maybe ten or twelve years ago. That was actually the first place I’d heard real and angry pushback against the idea that the Civil War was about slavery at its core.
  11. This may be technically true, but such action by Alabama would have to pass muster with the Supreme Court on whatever basis they do claim, even if it’s a “secret” basis or no basis at all; and beyond that, their decision would also have to pass muster with the court of public opinion eventually, including their voters, other governments, corproations, investors, tourists, etc. That last one might strike some as who-cares-big-whoop, but if everyone up and down the line thinks of Alabama as a clown state for doing things that are so untethered from reason, then good luck being taken seriously at whatever point they’d need to. That would not matter only if they can be a self-sufficient entity that doesn’t need anyone or any other entity for anything else ever again.
  12. At least somebody didn’t waste a trip from Canada.
  13. The new Burger King song, that one that repurposes "Have It Your Way" with the guy caterwauling in an intentionally off-key manner. The moment I hear the atonal two-note bass guitar opening, I can't reach for the mute fast enough.
  14. CJ HATES this franchise.
  15. I am optimistic that TORK!, especially, will take a nice step forward in 2024, based on how he finished this year. I am also confident that Riley will be All-Star level while on the field—it’s just, he’s gotta stay on the field. Canha will be a good one-year placeholder as we figure out our outfield situation for the 2025-2028 timeframe. We may need another one of those placeholder guys next year, but from among Riley, Parker, Max, and JHM, I’m thinking we can get at least two decent regulars out of that for that timeframe. Might need a good free agent signing to top it off. Third base is still a bit of a tire fire, but fingers crossed that Andy Ibanez has the same kind of year next year at second base that he did this year: two wins with decent stick and plus D. I am actually quite optimistic Javy will have a resurgent year in 2024. He’s arguably the most emotional guy in the game, someone who feeds off of what’s happening around him. This team was the walking dead in 2022 and considered about the same going into 2023, and I think this was a big reason his performance got dragged down both years. But if he senses there’s optimism that we can contend for the playoffs in 2024, which I think we can, I can see him keying off that and putting up two, maybe three wins or better at shortstop. Catching is a bit of a black box since I’m not sure what we really have in Jake, but I’m hopeful we won’t be in the bottom third of the game with that position. This team is nothing like a juggernaut, but I think as currently constructed, we have better than a puncher’s chance to contend for a Central title next year. I think some national guys will even favor us in their mostly pointless preview columns next March.
  16. There’s no Jesus in the song, just like there’s no Jesus in secular Christmas.
  17. Oh, drinking song. 100%. What would it even sound like in choir form?
  18. I think the more important message here is do not agree to Autopay. EVER.
  19. He’ll learn too late that quislings don’t escape the gas chamber.
  20. Meaning there’s no revenue angle and they’ll take a loss at the taxpayers’ expense just to make her go away? That makes no sense, and I doubt they did this just to make no sense. There’s money in this for them somewhere.
  21. What’s he going to do, sue the hospital out of existence for accepting patients? Imprison trans kids for getting medical care in Washington? Imprison their parents and grandparents and the next three generations of family too? What the actual **** is this fascist bull****?
  22. I read the story, and I don’t see how it could possibly be worth it to these right wing morons to pay her $4 million to leave the job. I assume they behave some plan to make that all back many-fold with her out of the way, but how?
  23. This sounds good on paper, but remember, they’re not counting on a conviction as much as they are the presumption of guilt in the court of public opinion that would happen with an indictment.
