  1. Isn’t it funny how we are hearing literally everything about the 14-year-old shooter and his parents in Georgia, but we have heard exactly zero about the kid in Pennsylvania and his parents. That **** got shut down in zero flat.
  2. I’m mostly with you, but I don’t believe it’s quite a 100% certainty that Kamala buries Trump in this debate. If I had to put some numbers on it, I’d say it’s something like 60% she smokes him off the stage; 5% he smokes her off the stage; 20% it’s considered a statistical tie; 15% she does something inadvertent that cripples her campaign; and 0% he does something that cripples his campaign. That final one seems impossible at first blush, but as I said, i believe Trump’s cake is fully baked. I think he is so bulletproof to the red hats that he could lay some cable live on stage tonight, or scream “**** Jesus Christ!” at the top of his voice, and it wouldn’t lose him a single voter.
  3. It’s all fun and games until an SRO snaps at a kid who he thinks is lipping off to him.
  4. As it turns out, my Wednesday softball team disintegrated, so instead of going to the White Sox game tonight, I’m going tomorrow afternoon instead, so I will be available to watch the debate after all. I ain’t gonna lie. I’m a little nervous.
  5. If you really want to be entertained in the same way you are on the Orlando FreeFall ride, watch the debate on Newsmax.
  6. I’m not sure it will help them—who’s going to come over to Trump’s side over this story? Nor will anything he does in tonight’s debate hurt him. His cake is beyond baked. It’s petrified.
  7. Shocking that Rupert's WSJ is writing about it.
  8. To Tyreek: "When we tell you to do something, you do it! Understand?" To the friend who stopped to help: "Give me your license right now! Or I'm gonna lock you up!" As I was saying ...
  9. They were also the first people in modern times to overthrow their enslavers. Perhaps they are viewed as mentally unbalanced.
  10. Maybe Harris could move the team to New York or LA or Miami? That might help ...
  11. I'm not given to parochial paranoia, but I do wonder whether there's not a little anti-Tigers skew, not because pundits necessarily hate the team or the city of Detroit, but because the Guards are winning and the Tigers are not, at least as popularly viewed. If Clase does steal several first-place votes, I think that would be part of it.
  12. Clase will not win the Cy Young over Skubal.
  13. Flaherty is not coming back because we are not going to throw the years he will require to sign a deal, which I assume will be five-plus. Two reasons: (1) We are not at the point where a long-term deal with an ace puts us over the top; (2) Flaherty's not that guy, anyway.
  14. I'm not even sure they're going for low- or even no-information voters with this. They might be going for some kind of anti-information voters, the kind of people who hate your facts and despise all knowledge because it hurts their feelings which are all that should matter.
  15. At which point we will get treated to accusations that the Democrat Party is cheating by manipulating the price of gas so they can fool people into voting for them against their interests, or something along those lines.
  16. I've been hearing of some movement on public perception of inflation here and there in the past few weeks, meaning, people are slowly coming around to it being more under control than the Republicans would like it to be.
  17. There is NO WAY Trump would not be getting his palm greased somehow for enacting tariffs. Otherwise why would he be so into it? He does literally nothing without getting paid in some way for it, whether it's in money, votes, access, something. I haven't figured out how that would work, but I'm sure it'll come to me at some point.
  18. I will probably be at Cellphone Park watching the march toward history. Plus the Cleveland Guardians are in town, so I have a rooting-against interest.
  19. There is no doubt that once we show and prove with the kids, the rafters will be ringing.
  20. That would get me my 84 wins!
  21. Was it not? I can see where a team might devise a strategy to more vigorously contest passes in the end zone that look like certain touchdowns.
  22. Good teams win when they play not particularly good games.
