  1. I wouldn’t think an oligarchical venture capitalist would be for any of those things.
  2. We're all cackling about this and we all like it when someone shoves it right up Trump's ass, but I'm trying to figure out what the 4-D chess here is, meaning, saying the quiet part about the Trump microphone strategy out loud. It feels like this could backfire on the Harris campaign, although I'm not really sure about whether or how. I'm guessing the campaign game-planned it all out before releasing it.
  3. If/when Bush and Romney come out for them, I'll be super impressed.
  4. The Rule of It Only Takes One.
  5. As I said: today's Republican Party.
  6. 15.1 WAR pace.
  7. I don't know how you feel about it, but I find it beyond incredible that one of the most lucrative industries in America is also humping people for donations. This came in my email today.
  8. Kennedy is from Los Angeles? 😏
  9. When it comes to today's Republican Party, Kennedy is a feature, not a bug. What was really striking to me is how much Kennedy pushed everything onto Cavuto: "Hey, man, I'm just here telling the truth, you're the one with the problem who can't deal with it." This is essentially an entire party that is borderline on the spectrum that has not a shred of emotional intelligence. In fact, emotional intelligence is basically considered airy fairy horseshĭt by an entire party that wants to go back to a time where people would settle their differences by socking you in the nose. You know, when America was great.
  10. I came from a family of six boys and a girl, so there may be something to this. West Euro may be kind of broad because my impression of ancient to middle ages European cultural history is that the Germanic tribes are themselves very direct and not the type to pussyfoot around issues. I may have that wrong, though.
  11. I had plenty of women bosses throughout the 1980s into the 2010s. I never thought I had preconceived notions going into the relationship, and yet, they were always the bosses I had the most trouble with. I believe it was in part my fault, because I am borderline on the behavioral spectrum and from a family of seven kids, which manifests in my case in directness, honesty, and audio volume; and in part their fault, since their presumed emotional intelligence did not extend to an understanding of people who are borderline on the behavioral spectrum.
  12. In all seriousness, I think framing is more gaming than cheating, since there’s no rule against it, there’s an expectation catchers are going to do it, and umpires are presumably on guard against the most egregious attempts. OTOH, Gaylord Perry doctoring the ball? Charming or not, that’s definitely cheating. There is a rule against that, the expectation is that pitchers won’t try to break the rule, and umpires shouldn’t have to be super vigilant against it.
  13. Yes, and also, a good player development function is essential, because good raw talent doesn’t generally develop itself.
  14. The young women who identify with “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” ain’t quite so young anymore. 😉
  15. You might be the first fan I have ever heard slag Bill Veeck.
  16. Sorry, I misunderstood what you were saying about Judge’s WAR. But it feels as though an 11.5 even at FG by end of year is within reach.
  17. Fangraphs has Judge at 9.3 WAR. They must be dinging him pretty hard for his suboptimal defense. That said, FG also shows WAR for splits, which Reference does not. Just in the last 30 days, Aaron Judge has 3.1 WAR, which works out to 18.5 or so WAR for an entire season. Which … dayum.
  18. Everyone under 50 looks 29 to me.
  19. I think we’re all getting drunk on multiple nights from now until January 20.
  20. If you believe in the magic of calendar splits, “McStinky” is .314/.364/.510 in 55 plate appearances in August. He will be playing for his career for the rest of his young life, and I think he will have earned another season with someone, if not us.
  21. You sure it wasn’t, “jack a bomb, Keith!”? 😃
  22. I was surprised how Vierling in right fielder insisted on the replay for the diving catch try early on. I thought the replay showed a clear change of trajectory from hitting the ground, and how could a major leaguer not sense that? My friend did not they said the called “stands” over being “confirmed”. But on the scoreboard video it looked really obvious.
  23. My friends and I noticed several lackluster efforts last night.
