  1. Maybe. He's hitting .262/.341/.471 in 400 trips at Toledo this year but Fangraphs has his wRC+ at 98, which is right around league average. If we believe that number, it's likely he comes up and rakes at a 75 or 80 wRC+ level, which will have people screaming for Hinch's head for running him out there night after night. Of course, if we don't believe that wRC+ number and think he'll hit like an All-Star, then by all means, come on up!
  2. Rule 5 for a reason? Might as well keep throwing him out there, though, until we get someone better to replace him with.
  3. Although in the hands of the New Boss, I’m more open to doing a deal like that, until he shows he fails at it, same as the Old Boss.
  4. Given how strikeouts have spiked over the past decade-plus, it’s quite possible.
  5. I know it’s far more likely a mirage than a turning point, but this Detroit Tigers team played like champions today.
  6. Aww, nawww, Jason Foley’s not gonna get a save, boo hoo hoo, bad Zack, bad
  7. I could see packaging Cisnero and one of the starters, meaning Eduardo, to unlock a numbered prospect.
  8. Watching highlights of Kapler’s time with the Tigers, I forgot he wore #23. Damn.
  9. Especially if the return includes a plus middle infielder or third baseman.
  10. Has Daniella Bruce ever done analyst work in the booth with Dan? As long as they’re rotating everybody and their brother through that booth, might as well give her a try. Seems like she might be pretty good.
  11. One of the better catches we will see Kerry Carpenter make on the fly ball over his left shoulder.
  12. Aw, darn, 7/9ths of the way to an immaculate inning. Too bad. And that was a hit too.
  13. Maybe he was hanging out with Deuce there and didn't want to get caught up in his bad scene again.
  14. Also, I'm at my wit's end on seeing endless garbage posts. Time to take personal action.
  15. Thank you—I was going to ask for the example of how they said their core customer is "****ty".
  16. Counterpoint: technically imprecise though their usage may be, the terms are still prevalent in the industry. https://www.unifiedmanufacturing.com/blog/how-do-i-know-if-im-getting-quality-vinyl-record-pressing/#virgin-vinyl-or-recycled-vinyl
  17. It always surprises me to remember that SiriusXM is the company and yet there are separately-branded Sirius radios and XM radios depending on the make or even model. Seems silly but I guess there are reasons. Anyway, it might be different for car XM in that they give you all 30 broadcasts in a night, but car Sirius gives us only 15 a night, that is, only the home feed. The phone app gives us all 30 broadcasts, though.
  18. I should have known there are a boatload of articles about a hot topic such as this: https://www.realsimple.com/work-life/money/money-etiquette/when-to-tip-in-cash https://www.foodandwine.com/fwpro/should-you-tip-in-cash-or-on-a-credit-card https://thetakeout.com/ask-the-salty-waitress-should-i-tip-in-cash-or-on-a-ca-1823439615
  19. I was just going off my experience of receiving pleasant surprise and hearty thank yous when I tip directly in cash. I had assumed it was because they preferred it.
  20. I did for certain Beatles discs when I was way way into them. Also spent for UK Parlaphones, as well as Magical Mystery Tour from West Germany, which was the only version that had the final three songs in stereo. Also got a Japanese bootleg where She’s a Woman and Yes It Is were in stereo. That’s what I spent hundreds of my extra bucks on. Now everyone can get all these versions for practically free. That’s OK.
  21. This reminds me of when I was working in an office in maybe 2000 or so and my boss arranged for a summer afternoon outing for our department, and suggested we have a softball game. Knowing the department was mostly women and only a couple of us guys there played, I had visions of accidentally murdering one of my colleagues with a line drive. So out of the blue, I suggested that instead we play kickball, something I hadn’t played since grade school, and said this should be a lot safer and really fun. We played, it was a lot safer, and we had a blast. Within ten years, the kickball craze was sweeping the country. I take full credit for … ahem … kicking it off.
  22. I’m sure you could tell the different between virgin and recycled vinyl on your rig than I ever could on whatever it was I was using.
