When a YouTube video's thumbnail and description about a historical topic I'm interested in draws me in, and the video itself ends up being >95% some guy taking up the screen with his ugly mug and a microphone, and there may or may not occasionally be some picture related to the topic shown over their shoulder, taking up maybe 20% of the total screen. I blame Peyton and Eli Manning for this revolting state of affairs.

Maybe that’s why I don’t like them—that and the fact that they won a ring four years into their damn existence. Just like the Marlins won theirs in their fifth year. It’s so sad to see geographical bases that don’t really care about their teams, like the Florida teams or Arizona or the Braves, get decent teams that go to playoffs while loyal fan bases like ours suffer. I’m optimistic about the direction of our team, though, and I’m ready for some October baseball instead of October golf.

I think it's somewhat disappointing that an 84-78 team is going to play a 90-72 team in the World Series. I know that's the kind of thing we can expect to see more of with expanded playoffs, and in fact I will enjoy watching these games and certain of the players on these teams. I would prefer the teams with the best records, or close to the best, make the Series. Just my preference, shaped by a lifetime of fandom. YMMV, and probably does. Of course, if the Tigers go 84-78 next season and make the World Series, I will definitely throw this opinion into the dustbin of history. 😁
