  1. MLB.tv plus the MiLB TV add-on is going to be a lot more interesting for Tigers fans this year.
  2. At least someone doesn’t hate the Tigers so much. https://theathletic.com/5259377/2024/02/13/detroit-tigers-2024-top-20-prospects-keith-law/
  3. Absolutely true of the national guys, which is what I think you might be talking about, right? Aside from the fact that most of them are located in major coastal markets like NY or SF, which leads to regional bias, it’s simply impossible for national baseball panelists to keep up with the inner workings, and thus the vagaries, of 30 different organizations. Especially true of those organizations that have been ciphers for the better part of a decade. Once the Tigers either start nailing pennants to the wall, or else sign/develop a charismatic generational talent, then we will start getting plenty of national attention.
  4. At least when he’s not off doing a MAC women’s basketball game on ESPN3.
  5. That’s going to be an issue for just about any free agent hitter, including left-handers, until it’s not.
  6. I think they believe it’s possible and they want to explore that for at least one more year, at least with what they have in-house, rather than shut the position off today and try to figure out what to do with everyone they have they think might have been a solution, at least for a year. That won’t make sense to a lot of people.
  7. I’m sure the Republicans would do their functional part to make that Congress a success …
  8. Given they have a couple clear internal candidates, I believe the Tigers don’t want to block off third base. Some will disagree.
  9. Not having heard them for a few months now, I’ve been idly wondering how much of the beginning of their podcasts recently are devoted to TayTay. First five minutes? Ten minutes?
  10. at least until the next one …
  11. Correct. All the red hats and their representatives care about is the appearance of maximal cruelty. It makes them feel manly.
  12. If I’m understanding your interpretation of their argument right, this is basically saying that if TayTay were objectively under 35, she should not be prevented from running for president for running afoul of the Constitution’s age floor because that would prevent effectively Congress from changing the age floor to 30, since she would have been barred from running for being under 35. Do I have that straight?
  13. If the light does turn on, it will be for exactly as long as it did for Kevin McCarthy on January 6.
  14. As much as we all hate ****er, you gotta admit he’s generally smart enough to be able to doctor the resulting interview enough to give them enough cover to continue supporting him.
  15. She saw Russia from her house and liked what she saw.
  16. I was thinking about this same thing when I saw pictures of parents holding up their children at the congressional hearing Zuckerberg was testifying at, to shame him into driver their children to suicide. I wondered, how much of the blame is due to lack of parenting inclination that led them to mollify their children with phones so those parents could do off and do what they wanted to do for themselves rather than doing the hard work of actually parenting, versus Zuckerberg willing these children to commit suicide through Instagram?
  17. With the zombie runner in place, this might have elevated to the status of unbreakable record.
  18. It doesn’t suck for the business, though. 😢
  19. Big league team in town >>> Fisher cheapskate in town
  20. It’ll be a tense battle between Maton and Ramon Urias for that 26th spot. More likely he’ll be a rover in Norfolk with a super short leash since he can’t be optioned anymore.
  21. I believe it was Curt Gowdy who told us that instant-star “GoGo” (or did he say “Coco”?) was lifted for a pinch-hitter 48 times that season.
  22. You can see why PECOTA is uncertain about the prospects for forward progress for this team for 2024. Looks to the algorithm like a lot of short-tenure guys as well as a rookie projected for an up-the-middle position, a struggling erstwhile superstar, and a bunch of new free agents/trade pickups with one year on their deals. All that said, I think it would be a stunning reversal for us to win only 75 games, unless we start racking up the injuries. But I think if we can get this group to spend more than 90% of their service time outside the infirmary, I think we should have at least a puncher’s chance to win the thing.
  23. Which is probably being discontinued this summer.
  24. The right answer is get the most out of the 30-year-old that he is capable of giving you.
