I agree with your comment as presented, but I'm also going to go out on a limb here and assert that the radical fascist right wing of the political spectrum represents the basic platforms of today's Republican party, and in far greater numbers, than those on the radical anarchist left wing of the spectrum represent corporatized Democratic Party, few if any of whom would even cop to being of the party. I see no evidence that he was active in the Democratic Party. Just because he's anti-Trump or even anti-Republican does not make him a Democrat. There are other alternatives, after all. Bernie Sanders is one of those alternatives. I agree if Cronenworth is done done, then it’s unfavorable. If he projects to even 1.5 average WAR for the rest of the contract, that’s probably about breakeven for a playoff contender. Won’t be our problem either way.

That’s because people have lower expectations of the Republicans than they do of the Democrats. It’s like when your bad kid talks your good kid into something like setting a fire in your garbage can and you catch them red-handed. Your bad kid is just doing what you already knew he would, so you roll your eyes and throw up your hands because you don’t know what you can do with him. But you’re mad at hell at the good kid because damn it, he knows better, so you’re going to punish him for it because you know he’s gonna get the message and straighten up and fly right.

I also don’t believe the Padres are going to dump Cronenworth to save money. His is actually a favorable contract, considering what they think they can get out of him.

I don’t know what kind of development can be had in that area, really. It’s largely an established residential area with a smattering of bar and self storage facilities and fitness centers and the like. It would be a little like putting a new stadium for the Tigers at 8 Mile and Schoenherr. You can fit a stadium there, but there’s otherwise not a lot of there there.
