Even though Maddow clearly has an agenda to advance the Democratic Party, she is also a first-rate journalist. She has both the deep background and the news chops to deliver the goods. Apropos of nothing, I notice that one of the two expansion teams in the eternal baseball universe is in Birmingham, Alabama (along with Montreal). Birmingham could never support a big league team, but I have wondered how they have never gotten an NBA franchise. They are the #45 market in the country, right behind Jacksonville and OKC, and bigger than New Orleans, Memphis, and Buffalo, all of whom have at least one major franchise (and two of which have two teams). And Birmingham is far enough from Atlanta so that the Hawks probably won't bleed enough supporters to make a difference, but could also generate a pretty good rivalry if they can manage to compete for a division against one another.

I'm betting one or more top investors in AT&T have threatened to pull back some of their money of they didn't drop OANN, since T has been the target of protests from major rights organizations, some of which have ties to top corporations.

Humoring your way of thinking, I don’t think “Dem supporters” (aka anyone who doesn’t support Trump) would be against the vaccine, if only because Trump would be publicly slagging the idea of being vaccinated to the red hats.

I read that fast and slow, and it was funny both ways.

I was referring to the availability of the vaccine outside the US due to the efforts of the Biden administration, such as they are, to distribute it. If Trump had successfully stolen the election, I imagine there would be far less distribution for the vax worldwide. As to your point, I could see Trump both slagging the idea of getting the vaccine while talking to red hats and their thought leaders, while claiming credit for the vaccine while talking to everyone else. He unabashedly tailors different messages for different audiences, and makes no effort at consistency because he succeeds on his own terms without doing so.

I look forward to the day when Republicans publicly execute Democratic politicians because Democrats have been planning to publicly execute Republicans all along.

In all seriousness, it makes perfect sense that the party that is actively working toward achieving single-party rule would have no interest in a multi-party debate. After all, that suggests that they agree that this is a democracy where voters deserve to choose their leaders, and Republicans simply have no interest in that.

Again, several years too early on the prediction.

All that said, I suppose we can dream on the idea of Chris Fetter and team unlocking a great deal of latent talent that would push the pen up to the top tier of the league. We can also dream about Scott Coolbaugh unlocking Miguel Cabrera's youth and helping Miggy deliver a 30/100/.300 season for one last hurrah.
