  1. Don was always there during my childhood love affair with the Tigers. Sorry to hear of his passing. The photos below are of his 1968 card, both front and back Donald Ralph Wert (July 29, 1938[1] — August 25, 2024[2]), nicknamed "Coyote",[3][4] is an American former professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball from 1963 to 1971 as a third baseman, most prominently as a member of the Detroit Tigers where, he was an All-Star player and was a member of the 1968 World Series winning team.
  2. Don Wert died… 🤕
  3. It’s nice that we’re not particularly playing for anything other than seeing what the kids can do. Getting to .500 is, let’s face it, not something to organize a parade over. So it’s nice just to enjoy this last bit of the season for the pure baseballishness of it.
  4. If Cleveland, Kansas City and Minnesota keep playing at the same win percentage as they are now the Central will have three 90 win plus teams. Of course, a lot of this comes from beating up on the White Sox.
  5. Wow, that ballpark is really empty. Either everyone has already left or the fanbase is really religious and they all went to church today and stayed late.
  6. Let’s get another run because I like double figures.
  7. Automatic ball strike calling in the international league as a test. It favors offense to an extreme degree.
  8. Deadpool ass-slap two-run double for Keith.
  9. Ty Madden’s ABS inflated ERA at Toledo is 7.97?
  10. Andy Ibáñez homers
  11. They gave Tork a hit on that?
  12. Once again, I take a 30 minute nap and wake up to the Tigers having scored four runs. When I’m unconscious good things happen. It’s like waking up and going downstairs in August to find a Christmas tree in the living room with presents beneath it that are not socks.
  13. Now WE are hittin’ ‘em where they ain’t.
  14. Sosa at 2nd flashin da leathah. And Kerry triples and Colt singles him in.
  15. Balls dropping in, fouls that stay fair, yeah, right now the probability goddess is on the Sox side. Glad we got out of that inning unscathed, though. Her love is fickle.
  16. I was hoping McStinky might steal home after that lead off…
  17. In all fairness, the White Sox have to rise to the occasion occasionally. The goddess of statistical probability demands it. But I am looking forward to a lot of Tigers butt slapping in the next couple innings on second base and maybe some balls hit into the stands that are not foul.
  18. “Feels like 101°.” That’s pretty tough at guaranteed rate field. After having countless weeks of 100° plus weather and smoky skies from forest and range fires it’s only 67° in Boise Idaho today and the sky is clear and it’s freaking awesome and I don’t have Covid anymore.
  19. Even I feel bad for the White Sox players and their fan base because I’m not intrinsically cruel. But I don’t care enough to see the White Sox win either of the next two games.
  20. Wesley Snipes
