  1. The game itself is scheduled to begin at 7:10 PM Eastern. They’ll have to fit in a bunch of ads and rah rah stuff for the first 10 minutes.
  2. My son-in-law can have as many as five people on his YouTube TV account so that’s how I’m watching it. Otherwise I wouldn’t be. The Dodgers have outlined gold lettering on their opening day uniforms
  3. The whole ESPN betting thing is repulsive.
  4. Listening to 32 minutes of talking head announcers’ peppy MLB boosterism on ESPN it is not particularly on my menu, but they will inadvertently have to talk about the Tigers.
  5. Surprise surprise the Yankees won their game on ESPN 4–2.
  6. You could start one if you wanted to.
  7. I did spring cleaning today with my new cheap next day 5am delivery one year limited warranty Bissell vacuum cleaner thanks to The Great Satan and it worked so well it could suck the paint off a Harley.
  8. I don’t think Max Clark has a problem with cold weather. And I didn’t realize what an all-around athlete Max Clark is. He even pitched in his sophomore year in high school, achieving a 0.84 ERA and 120 strikeouts over fifty innings. In his senior year, he was also awarded the Gatorade Best Player of the Year, as the best high school athlete regardless of sport, joining past winners such as Kyler Murray, Bobby Witt Jr. and LeBron James.
  9. Congratulations to the Chicago White Sox, the 2025 Central Division…
  10. This game is going to conflict with me watching my beloved Arizona Wildcats probably get picked apart by Duke. This baseball game allegedly “starts“ at 5 PM my time in the Mountain Time Zone but with all the dog and pony shows that go on it probably won’t start until 5:30 so I’ll probably miss Duke getting out to a 20–3 lead. Life isn’t fair
  11. The Tigers have not announced the starting pitchers for the next two games although the Dodgers have and they are first Yamamoto, and then Sasaki.
  12. I can’t remember if it was when Zoom or Nick joined the team, and a sister of one of those two logged on and innocently announced her presence and some posters wisely advised her that we were apt to say not very nice things about her brother because we tend to look upon these players as livestock which we either love or despise.
  13. Yeah, I think you’re right on that.
  14. While we’re name dropping, one of my wife’s former coworkers as a hairdresser moved back to Detroit, and one of her regulars was Frank Tanana and he was pretty much of a no-frills guy. He got cheap haircuts at Supercuts, saw baseball more as a job and less of a calling, and was more interested in his family than anything else.
  15. That is unbelievable, you can’t erase history.
  16. My daughter lives in West Hollywood and it’s been 75° and sunny there lately. On the day of the game it’s supposed to be high 60s and cloudy but good enough, and certainly better than Detroit. She says that “everything is normal again,“ and if there’s areas you don’t go to that were hit by the fire you’d never know that it ever occurred.
  17. It’s not indicative of anything in particular, but the Tiger pitchers did strike out 14 Giant batters while Tiger batters K’d only six times themselves.
  18. I may be wrong, but I have a feeling there’ll be enough traffic between Detroit and Toledo this year to justify a 200 mph underground Japanese bullet train between the two cities.
  19. So are they going to spray no smear, green food color on the grass for opening day?
  20. That ESPN televised game with the Dodgers will be a gigantic Dodger love fest.
  21. Kreidler triple to keep the hope alive but for nought.
  22. Maeda averse to the strike zone, but the ump wants to go home
  23. Casey getting hit hopefully they told him to wrap this thing up.
  24. Mize Ks 4 in a row.
