  1. HBP two on for Minn. sac bunt and runners advance.
  2. Ramirez is up in the bottom of the 9th and we go to extras because these guys are not good at pulling rabbits out of hats like our guys are.
  3. It’s so cute to hear other announcers for other American League teams talk about their own “Cy Young” candidates. Ha!
  4. In 13 games against the guardians this year the Twins have only scored 37 runs.
  5. I feel diminished having to root for Cleveland to win this game, especially after how they’ve mistreated us over the years. I guess this is repayment for the sin of our team being crappy early in the year.
  6. Cleveland chokes again.
  7. I’m listening to the radio guy for Cleveland. He works on his own no one else with him and all you hear about are home runs and RBIs. It’s as if all the new stats don’t exist, but this might be a small sample size on my part. We are so lucky to have Dan.
  8. Sounded like a homer for Ramirez but foul
  9. Baltimore is 2-8 in their last ten. Hope it stays that way.
  10. I understand people not liking it and it is of course just a commercial gimmick. To me, it looks like something a police force would wear in a future RoboCop era.
  11. I like our city connect uniforms, but I’m not wild about the solid color tops both teams are wearing today. It’s not bad. I just don’t particularly like it. I just like white or gray for home and away. It’s not a “dealbreaker” or anything. I suppose it’s intention is just to have more merchandise to sell.
  12. We just can’t expect boys to do a man’s job…
  13. Minnesota scores two
  14. Top of the fifth still 1-0 Cleveland leading Minnesota.
  15. Sadly, the inning ends without an extra Guardian run, and this is probably the only time in my life I will ever say this.
  16. Looks like it was an acceptable “neighborhood play” at Second.
  17. It looks like they have a really decent daytime crowd there.
  18. I thought about it too, but this will probably be OK.
  19. Cleveland got a lead off homer so it’s 1–0 over Minnesota right now.
  20. Hinch keeps emphasizing how they get these young players to “buy into the system“ at all levels. What we are seeing is that when they get to this level and it actually works, they have become devotees of a system that is working and it’s a part of their collective muscle memory. Our club appears to be developing a sort of Tigers Way.
  21. In a way they appear to be playing less “self-consciously“ in the most ordinary sense of that term of not tripping over your own feet. They are taking all of the coaching and instruction they’ve had and just allowing it to be expressed on the field and it seems to be working
  22. Andy really enjoys being on camera and appears to be having the time of his life.
  23. I’ve stopped pinching myself to see if I’m dreaming in hopes of discovering what things are like when I wake up. I’m awake, and this is what things are really like. This club’s potential is being actualized more quickly than any of us thought possible, and it’s not just dumb luck. It’s intentional. It’s more than a monkey randomly tapping out words at a typewriter. The traction and momentum are real. It’s not like they’re using alien technology discovered at Roswell either. They are consciously utilizing their assets and getting more out of all their moving parts than other clubs.
  24. I have a hypothetical question. Feel free to explain it to me as if I were a child. Let’s just say we’d had a really bad shortstop who played every game this season with only a -1.1 WAR, and through magic we were able to replace him with, say, Alan Trammell with a +6.0 WAR who likewise played every game in Ripkenesque fashion. I am assuming it’s more complicated than just replacing Trammell’s figures for the profoundly subpar player and coming up with a +4.9 WAR. But what would it look like? How much better would the team be?
