No disrespect meant for Newhouser but I think a lot of the better players were not back from WWII yet while Skubal is facing top flight players. Still impressive nonetheless.

I loved his lineups, as we all did. There was something comforting knowing that a slender infielder would always bat second. I felt affirmed by his lineups. I felt “seen” because I could’ve put that lineup together.
