Map of International Telephone Country Codes By Country

Just Europe

You would not be surprised to know that investigative types tend to lodge these in the dark corners of our brains.  Without looking:

86 is China

7 is the Former Soviet states

92 is Pakistan (where there are so many traces done that everyone's phone would be considered derogatory anywhere else)

91 is India

55 is Brazil

56 is Chile

54 is Argentina

27 is South Africa

The only two I can ever remember is that UK is 44 and Canada is 1.

I also did not realize that Greenland is in Africa. 😉

Map of the Moon If Its “Seas” Were Really Seas

moon-if-seas-seas-1536x1536.jpg

For reference

the dark area are called seas because of older beliefs that they were water based. Now we know it’s basalt formed from volcanic activity.

the runways at DTW are 2 miles long.

The two airstrips and the total flight would all fit easily inside the boundary fence at Metro. ✈️

We would hear even more "but land CAN vote!" statements!

What If The US Had The Canadian Electoral System (~100k per district)

v3cz8x2xqy0g1.png

The map above shows what the US House would look like if it had 100k people per district vs the over 750k people per district today.

Overall, you’d have a house with 3,350 members, which in this map would mean 1692 Democrats and 1658 Republicans.

INSETS (if you have a hard time)

Alaska: Anchorage inset; Hawaii: Honolulu/Oahu inset (easy enough, but I put them here on a technicality)

LEFT, Third row: Los Angeles/San Diego; San Francisco Bay Area; Seattle/Puget Sound; Portland, OR; Minneapolis

RIGHT

New York City

Second row: Philadelphia (and Trenton, NJ), Boston

Third row: Atlanta, Hampton Roads, Washington DC/Baltimore

Fourth row: Miami, Chicago/Milwaukee, (top) Tampa Bay, (bottom) Orlando

BOTTOM ROW: Sacramento; Las Vegas; Phoenix; Denver; El Paso; San Antonio/Austin; Dallas/Fort Worth; Houston; St. Louis; Detroit; Cleveland; Columbus, OH; Pittsburgh

Netherlands Delhaize is the owner of a bunch of grocery chains around the world including Virginia local ones Giant Food and Food Lion.   I shopped at a Food Lion in belgium so not sure why that isn't mapped.

Is it not considered a major in Europe?

I think the map just had spaces for 9 boxes.   Delhaize is prob in that second tier.

The bulk of the stores are in the low countries with others in the Balkans and then these big Virginia stores apparently.
