This is a helluva stat. Team Canada isn’t hard done by with a silver medal

The US was the side that got the most flak over their roster decisions and they all turned out to be great.   Canada on the other hand probably wishes they had set their defense up differently especially when they lost Josh Morrissey.    Definitely a mistake not to include Matthew Schaefer.  He’s going to be a core part of their team for the next 3 Olympics and this experience would’ve helped him.

I can’t think of too many pre-9am sporting events (“Breakfast at Wimbledon”?, Ryder Cup some years, maybe some World Cup games?) but 21mm is a nice number. Won’t translate into bigger NHL ratings going forward i don’t think, as the Olympics are a different beast

Big yikes giving up a 2nd round pick for an expiring McCarron.  Wings should shop Rasmussen and Compher if this is what the C market is like 😂

he isnt even any good.

buffalo rumored as a spot for faulk/thomas....i cant imagine what the price would be for both.  4 first rounders?

I guess if you value faceoff percentage he has some value, but other than that and hitting people a lot (aka his team never has the puck when he's on the ice) I just don't see it.

The east is such a beast.

Yep. 9 of the top 12 team in points overall are in the East. The Wings would have a 6 pt lead in the Pacific. The Wings are 9 points up on the West’s 8th place team and 12 points up on the West’s 9th place team. The Oilers would be 5 points out of a playoff spot in the East.

Per Lebrun:

The Panthers lost again last night and my understanding is they've made the decision to be sellers as far as listening on pending UFAs, which most notably include the likes of AJ. Greer and Sergei Bobrovsky. Bobrovsky has a 16-team no-trade list. Doesn't mean he will be dealt for sure, just means Florida is listening.

The only offer I heard from Detroit was a 2nd.

My non-informed guess is that Myers largely only wanted to go to Dallas, and the Wings negotiations / offer rumor were floated to drive the price up.  Not saying the Wings didn't offer the 2nd, I think they did, but I don't think it was ever going to get truly accepted knowing Myers wouldn't waive.

I also wonder how much of the smoke with Vancouver is that too, their GM notoriously likes to use the media to try to up trade offers
