Winning a Game 7 with 9 shots on goal has to be a first.

It’s funny because Montreal was inept on offense but even with more shots Tampa didn’t have a ton of great chances.  The Lightning all seemed to want to take it into the zone solo

So Montreal has a ROOKIE goaltender starting and winning a Game 7 playoff game. Meanwhile, our GM thinks so little of the goalie he drafted 4 years ago that he keeps Talbot on the roster over him. Why even draft Cossa? Just cut him if you think that little of him and admit he's a bust and that Talbot is a supreme being.

Typical Game 7 goal.

Did I get this right? From behind the net he hits the puck out of the air backhanded, it bounces behind the goaltender,  into his rear end, and back into the goal?

Yep. If you’re at home and think you’re the better team, you can’t let it come down to a bad break, bounce or call.

our first round goalie who cant eve  start in the AHL playoffs?  who has been beaten out by an undrafted free agent?  THAT first round pick?

the moral of the story is not "why is our GM not playing our first round goalie," but rather "why is our GM trading up in the first round FOR A GOALIE?"

Cossa had a .233 GAA and a .915 save%. He was to 8 in the AHL in save% and third in wins overall. Let's not act like Cossa is truly a bust. Yzerman just hasn't given him a chance to truly prove himself at the big league level.

This Colorado Minnesota game is nuts.  It's the complete opposite of the earlier game.

Colorado's goal total matched Montreal's shot total. Avs beat Wild 9-6.

i dont know if cossa is a bust or not, but goalies are weird and come from lots of places.  i dont agree with drafting one in round one because of that.  just a personal philosophy.

cossa hasnt done anything so far and has been outplayed by postava, that's why postava is starting.  in fact, cossa has faded badly down the stretch for two years in a row. cossa still has potential, that's why they should trade him this offseason before the shine completely wears off.
