Most replies say not to risk his health but yeah, try to keep him out. 😆

once healed there isn't much residual risk with a long bone fracture. One would think xray would give them a pretty good idea of where things stand with the bone....

The bone, yeah. But after a long layoff, I would worry about a soft tissue injury. He, and the Lions, need to be smart and think longterm.

he should have been able to ramp up to fairly high training level if he is getting close to being cleared to play. But along the way you are thinking you hope they don't him play without having been through contact drills in practice - etc...

If he's going to actually play and contribute in the Super Bowl, I expect he would need to get some snaps in the NFCCG.

Either way he may dress for the Super Bowl, but it may be in quasi decoy fashion, rather than actually an intended contributor.

I’m not a doctor, but by all accounts it was a clean break and I haven’t heard of any concern that the bone is at risk for further injury. It seems the issue will be strength and conditioning. If he is cleared for practice during the playoffs nobody will be able to keep him out.

This. Maybe he may have to be protected from himself. I'm not as worried about the bone as I am about possible soft tissue injuries....or a knee injury.

The thing I’m worried about most is that we will have to play Stafford, Hurts, Allen, or Mahomes without Hutch, at least as a third and long option.

Hurts doesn't look good this year. The Eagles have been winning despite him. You have to be a bad QB to win nine in a row in Philadelphia and have even the national media being like "wow your running back must be an MVP"

I'm not all that worried about not having Hutch, though it's obviously preferable to have him. They haven't lost a game without him. I just want to at least have what our defense looked like the moment he went out. Paschal, Levi, Alim, Reader, etc.
