Shinzaki Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Beasley is deciding if he should bet the over or under on this week's Lions game Quote
Deleterious Posted September 10 Author Posted September 10 People are saying Beasley is indeed coming back, since a video recently dropped of him in Rome with Cade and Duren. I hate the summer. Quote

Deleterious Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 Beasley was always going to be investigated by the league and it's probably a good sign for him returning. I almost wonder if he asked for it since it said he is cooperating. If he's cleared by the league or gets a small suspension it opens up the possibility of a long term deal. He wouldn't get more than one year if the cloud of a long suspension hung over his head. Quote
Deleterious Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 Rozier had his investigation opened by the Feds during the season and the league still has not investigated him. Quote
Deleterious Posted September 15 Author Posted September 15 Nets just traded for Bufkin. They still have plenty of money to outbid Detroit for Beasley if they want. Detroit can offer $7.2 million If I remember correctly. Quote
Betrayer Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Adam Silver just commented a few days ago, "I'll only say the investigation is ongoing. As I understand it, there's still a federal investigation that's ongoing of Malik Beasley as well." All of this stuff on Malik's socials about how he's choosing between various suitors has always just felt like hype to increase his perceived value and make it seem like he's about to re-enter the league. Shell games from a con man. Pistons should stay away from this mess and I'm guessing most other teams will as well until the league makes an official statement to clear him. Quote
Deleterious Posted September 15 Author Posted September 15 I think most teams would sign Beasley to a 1-year deal without giving it much thought. There is no risk involved with a 1-year deal. I think he wants a multi-year deal and that will require the league to clear him. Quote
Deleterious Posted September 20 Author Posted September 20 I guess Zach Lowe said Laurie Markkanen is going to be traded this season. He speculated on Detroit and said it would take Harris + Ivey + picks. Seems like a big overpay to me. Been in the league 8 years and only really had 2 good seasons. He has never played 70 games and only played 60+ three of those seasons. He is owed about $190 million for the next 4 years. Last thing you want on your roster is an expensive guy who can't stay on the court and eating up one third of your cap space. That is a franchise killer and if some of these kids do improve, it might make it so we can't pay/keep everyone. I see a lot of people that like the idea. Too expensive for his talent and far too injury prone IMO. Quote

Deleterious Posted September 26 Author Posted September 26 Pistons media day is Monday at 11AM. Quote
Deleterious Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 That starting lineup is a pretty bad shooting lineup. A center who only shoots 3 feet and in. A PF who shot 34% from three last year A SF who shot 22% from three. A SG who was stroking it last year before getting hurt. But we don't know if that was real or a 30 game heater. A PG who shoots 35% from three, which is still below league average. Quote
Deleterious Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 Media day is tomorrow. What is the O/U on how many times Ivey and Duren are asked about their extensions? They can sign before the first game of the season. Quote

They both do so much other stuff on the court that I don't even care if they can shoot or not. For me, the swing skill that will determine how good Ausar is will be his handle. It will open a lot of things up for the Pistons if he can tighten that up. Another explosive/athletic freak that can get to the rim and create for others is always a good thing to have. Quote
