AlaskanTigersFan Posted Thursday at 01:43 PM Posted Thursday at 01:43 PM Something fun that is specifically for the trade deadline. Feel free to throw out your ideas and share about others trade proposals. I'll start with one to know your thoughts. Tigers Send: Thayron Liranzo, Jace Jung, Dietrich Enns, Jaden Hamm, Franyerber Montilla, and Joseph Montalvo Pirates send: Mitch Keller, David Bednar, Ke'Bryan Hayes Maybe a little steep, but I think that could work. Hesitant to keep Jaden Hamm in but this gives Pirates some younger players to build around. Gives the Tigers a rotation lock, closer, and an upgrade (albeit not that big) at 3B. The Defense upgrade alone though could be +2 wins or so at the hot corner. Thoughts? Quote
Sports_Freak Posted Thursday at 03:02 PM Posted Thursday at 03:02 PM I saw an article that said the Tigers should acquire Bednar. It showed his good secondary stats that say hes a good pitcher who just had a couple of bad outings. Quote

Arlington Posted Thursday at 03:18 PM Posted Thursday at 03:18 PM Yes, but I don't think the Pirates would. Four promising prospects for three established starters. They probably could do better. Quote

Bednar, sure he's signed through '27 and has a 12+ K/9. I'd probably trade Jung and Montalvo for him. 3 Quote
AlaskanTigersFan Posted Thursday at 03:40 PM Author Posted Thursday at 03:40 PM I wonder if our GM has the cajones to make a deal inter division. Some good relievers in the division that could be on the market. Anyone have an idea what a trade would look like for that? Jung for Clase? Would the Indians do that? Would the Tigers? Honestly I don't get why teams hate trading inside their own division. If it makes your team better, do the deal. Hopefully Harrison feels the same way and can convince the Indians or Twins GM of the same..... Quote

They'll need those players to compete next season. Unless they'll be free agents anyway, may as well get something better than a comp draft choice. Quote
Shinzaki Posted Thursday at 04:52 PM Posted Thursday at 04:52 PM I've seen Hayes as a possible Tigers trade target a few times and I don't know why...he doesn't hit very well. If Vierling is truly healthy, Hayes serves no real purpose at all Quote

If Vierling is truly healthy, Hayes serves no real purpose at all Seen his name floated around quite a bit. I'd take a chance on him. He had a 60 hit tool coming up through the system. Even if he can up his line to something like .280/.320/.400+ I'd take that. He might be the best defensive 1st basemen in MLB..... Quote
ICroupier Posted Thursday at 05:32 PM Posted Thursday at 05:32 PM Bednar is the only one in that group who interests me. We need a #2 starter, not another #4/#5 starter. And Hayes doesn't interest me at all. I'm not all that keen on spending any prospect capital on hitting, but if I were to, he's the exact opposite of the prototype I'd be looking for. 4 Quote

He has chronic back issues that have sapped his hitting ability. Quote
Shinzaki Posted Thursday at 09:16 PM Posted Thursday at 09:16 PM Clase's off his rocker...thinks he's Betty Crocker. I've mentioned this name before...but if they think they can fix him, Alcantara from the marlins might come bit cheap as a starter. If they feel they must add a RH hitting 3B..Eugenio Suarez makes a lot of sense. Quote
AlaskanTigersFan Posted Thursday at 09:59 PM Author Posted Thursday at 09:59 PM What do you all think it'd cost to get Suarez or Alcantara? Quote
AlaskanTigersFan Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/07/trade-deadline-outlook-detroit-tigers.html - Anyone got the premium version that can provide cliff notes? I see Cedric Mullins. Not really sure why we'd need another OF...... I think 3B, RP and one more starter is the main needs. Quote

AlaskanTigersFan Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago I'd give up Jung for Alcanta or Mitch Keller. Wonder if that would be enough. Quote

Edman85 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) On what planet does Enns have trade value? Let me explain. He's 33. He is making prorated 7 figures, is out of options, is clearly limited, and is eligible for free agency after the season. You have no control, no surplus value, no upside. No trade value.
