If Shaun Hamilton (currently the Linebackers coach) was hired elsewhere as a HC, we would get the comp pick. It doesn't matter where in the organization they come from, just that they've been there for two years and are hired into either the HC or GM (/Chief Player Personnel) role. Quote

Can't wait for the Chargers to get a comp pick if Mike McDaniel ends up taking one of the open jobs. We shoulda hired McDaniel, let him take a job this cycle, then hired Petzing as the OC after all. We coulda got our guy and our comp pick. Brad and Dan should be fired for not thinking this through. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I believe you have to be at the position two years. I don’t believe Sheppard would have netted a comp pick. Quote

Mr.TaterSalad Posted 42 minutes ago Posted 42 minutes ago I read through the rules and it is indeed correct they must be employed for two full seasons with the organization. I wasn't aware of the two seasons portion of the rule. I thought it would be a farce if the Chargers hired McDaniel and then two weeks later he goes and takes a HC job and they would then get a comp pick for that. Luckily, that's not the case. Quote
