Just looked it up, and this makes me cry.  On 3PTA's where there is no defender within 6 feet of the shooter, Huerter is only shooting 32% for the season.  That isn't a guy who plays on a bad team not getting good looks.  That is a guy with a shooting problem.

Can they fit Saric's PRO-rated contract into the BAE?

Or does that not matter (the BAE ALSO pro-rated...)?

Trades use the seasons full salary.  Saric makes $5.4 million and the BAE is $5.1 million.

I think he's been plagued by some nagging injuries, if/when healthy I believe he'll be fine.

his 3 point shooting has declined for 3 years now.  it might just be he's slowing down and isnt as good anymore.

he's still an upgrade on ivey for this year and he gets ivey's cap hold off their books.

I think if you look at his injury history, his shooting declined in correlation with trying to play through the injuries, back issues this year, shoulder issues, including surgery, previously. Hopefully the Pistons are up to speed on recovery prognosis.

Sexton ended up in Chicago, probably not a guy they are interested in re-signing. Would have greatly preferred to add Sexton to give Cade some ball handing relief, than wish-casting that Huerter is going to find his stroke.

hopefully.  the injuries might be a sign of decline.

regardless, loke you said, if he can find his stroke again, he'll be good for them.  And heurter finding his stroke is more likely to occur than thinking someone who never had a stroke (like holland or ausar) will suddenly develop one.
