The entire Spurs defense is focused on Cade. They are fine giving up the occasional Duren tip in or dunk, maybe a Robinson three. They know nobody else on the floor can beat them.

isnt this what theyre going to see every night in the playoffs?  if cade is going to be human in any game the pistons are in big trouble.  there is no other consistent scorer on the team.

but thank goodness they didnt go all in at the deadline for a #2 scorer...

Early on you could tell Cade was affected by Wemby but now he is just missing shots he normally makes at a higher clip.  Cade sees defenses load up on him all the time.

This isn't other defenses though. The Spurs are the third best defense in the league.

this game is a bit flukish that the pistons are shooting so poorly, but it does show how they are going to struggle if teams double cade hard in key moments.  if he isnt superman, they could be in trouble becauae their other two best players (ausar/duren) cant score without him.

Makes aside. I would be concerned with how many wide open looks the Spurs have had tonight.

The spurs are good but I have never seen so many bad bounces for a team in  a quarter.  Every time the pistons play good defense, the spurs get a basket off a broken play.

ivey washing out kills this team.  he was their second scorer to help cade.  

without him, they tanked for one superstar, a defensive small forward who can guard 1-3, a rim running center, and a defensive role player.  

that's not a championship core.  they have to get another scorer.  but trajan sat on his hands and did nothing in a season where the second best team is the flawed knicks and the injured celtics.
