The fact he could only fetch Corey Kispert and CJ McCollum on the trade market says otherwise.

So assuming Miami keeps Powell in free agency, their starting lineup is:

Mitchell, Powell, Wiggins, Giannis, Bam.

That isn't terrible, just not sure if it puts them in contention.

Well, they have 3 1/2 shooters in the starting lineup.

Mitchell shot 39.5% from three.  Powell 38% and Wiggins was 41%.  Bam shot 31% but 35% the two previous seasons.  If he can get back to that then they have 4 shooters around Giannis, which is exactly what you want.

They also still should have the MLE to spend on more shooters.  Portis came along in the trade, and he shot 45% from three last year and 39% for his career.  They have Fontechio's Bird rights to bring him back if they want.  Maybe target Coby White with the MLE or break it up into multiple guys like Kennard.

i think miami is really good now.  i think they're better than detroit unless detroit does something to address theyre spacing concerns without losing their defensive identity.

but if youre going to beat giannis, you have to make him shoot and stop him from driving.

who are your top teams in the east right now?  assuming halliburton comes back healthy.

new york

boston

indiana

miami

cleveland

detroit

Looks about right.  Atlanta creeps in if they could move #8 for Murphy.

ESPN cranking up new trade drama already.

They said Ant has been frustrated in Minnesota since the KAT trade and could be the next star on the trade market.

Seems like Jalen Brown might beat him to the punch.

If Orlando can stay healthy they could be in the mix as well. I doubt Detroit stands pat. Something will happen

It was odd to hear Silver so matter of factly name Seattle and Las Vegas.  That's what everyone assumes, I'd guess that's what it will be.  But it strikes me as odd that a commissioner would be that blatant about it.

True enough but that's where the billions are, nothing else really matters.

Yes, but to be so overt about it.  I literally stopped my bicycle and backed up on the podcast to hear Silver's words again.

I'm glad they paid Reeves. Now we can watch the Lakers flame out in the playoffs every year behind Luka and Reeves playing zero defense.

With those two you basically need Victor and the Thompson twins as your other three starters.
