Deleterious Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 There isn't really any huge free agents. I doubt this was done for a trade since A)You would want Stewart's salary for matching purposes and B)Stewart would have value in a trade. Quote
Deleterious Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 So they basically traded Stew + 21 for Okorie? Quote
Betrayer Posted June 25 Posted June 25 On one of Ku’s recent shows with Ant Wright he was saying "Stew is gone. Trust me. They’re trading him." He wouldn’t say why and then he messaged Ant on the side to tell him. They made a joke out of it, but it seemed like he knew something. I’m just connecting dots that may not be there but we were all questioning what happened to Stew during the playoffs, why his playing time went down, why he disappeared, and him saying he wasn’t injured. Just makes me wonder if he got into it with JB or something and it was serious. Quote
Betrayer Posted June 25 Posted June 25 That said, this is a terrible return for one of your few tradable assets. Feels a lot like the Ivey dump. I have no idea what Trajan is doing this off-season but so far it’s been pretty bad. Quote
buddha Posted June 25 Posted June 25 you traded the heaet of your team, on a good tradeable contract, PLUS A FIRST ROUND PICK, to draft an 18 year old 6 foot guard. in 2026. lol if they moved stewart to make room for herro and his extension. Quote
papalawrence Posted June 25 Posted June 25 B Ball Paul is part of why beef Stew's contract was expendable. Quote

Terrible use of assets. There must have been some issues behind the scenes or his knees are really shot because on the surface it's really odd to trade him as a salary dump. If this is to clear space for Herro or Powell consider me underwhelmed. 2 Quote

Deleterious Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 Reed will probably be fine as the backup. But it's the Flip Saunders thing again. More offense at the expense of defense. Quote
Deleterious Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 The Grit and Grind folks in Memphis are going to love Stew. Quote
buddha Posted June 25 Posted June 25 if they did all this for lamelo ball or tyler herro i'm going to throw up. murphy? i can at least see that one. murphy and herb jones? ok. lauri? that would be good just to see del's head explode. kyrie? kawahi? LEBRON! all of those seem far fetched (especially lebron, lol). but lamelo ball? please god no. that would be the ultimate flip saunders decision. Quote
