Easier said than done, but that’s the situation they’re in. Winning a road series is huge. Beating teams you're supposed to beat is a sign of a good team. I really like the upcoming pitching matchups, we may be able to win this series at Wrigley. Quote

I think there’s a bit of a mental aspect for fans, and maybe for the players and coaches, for how a 2 of 3 non sweep occurs. I’d say a number of fans are probably a bit more disappointed when their team goes WWL as opposed to WLW or LWW. It’s still the same 2 of 3, the order shouldn’t matter as much from purely Ws and Ls standpoint. But you bring up a good point about teams you should beat. For all intents and purposes, the Tigers did that. And let’s also not forget that historically the Tigers don’t do well out in Anaheim. So a bit of a small victory on that front, too. 1 Quote
gehringer_2 Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Tigers used to lose west coast series all the time even in their best years of their previous run. Taking 2/3 on the coast is always a good result. Quote

Play them in May and we get swept. That month may have destroyed our entire season. Especially if we miss the playoffs by a few games. I blame the bullpen and the bullpen usage. Quote

I don't know, Kreidler's got a better batting average and on base than Clemens, and his home run rate would put him around 11 or 12 if he'd had as many ABs as Clemens. Quote
