Took me five, but I agree that it was pretty tricky. Out of the 39 times I've played, I've only needed all six tries two times. Quordle on the other hand... I routinely take it all the way to the end, if I get it at all.

shit I just calculus'ed it out in my head that the first lesson happened yesterday? How did it go?
It was fine. Basically "get to know you" stuff. Which chords I know, which ones I struggle with, what do I want to play, etc. I'm supposed to come back next week with 2-3 songs I want to work on, and we will also work in some of the more basics of reading music.
The 2-3 songs thing is actually pretty tough for me. Songs that I know a riff or the beginning to (Seven Nation Army, Blister In The Sun, Come As You Are, Brutal), seem really repetitive and not all that interesting to play all the way through. Others I would like to do (Woman Going Crazy On Caroline Street - Jimmy Buffett, Lonely Boy - Black Keys), I don't even really know where to begin. I think I'm going to go with I Got Mine - Black Keys and Tin Cup Chalice - Jimmy Buffett (or maybe Brown Eyed Girl). BEG is not my favorite, but it's better than Margaritaville or Cheeseburger in Paradise. I also am strongly considering Knee Deep - Zac Brown Band, but some parts of that look really tricky. I'm all for being challenged, but I also want some easy successes.

I have my first in-person guitar lesson tomorrow. I'm a little concerned since I told him I don't read music and just use tabs, and he wants me to learn to read music. With the prevalence of tabs, that feels unnecessary but I'll try to have an open mind.

When this hit the webs a few weeks ago I download the wordle app and it looked stupid. I didnt understand the fuss. Then my wife was telling me about it and it sounded nothing like what I downloaded. So yes… the wordle app is not what everyone is playing. It’s just a site. At least that’s how it was a few weeks ago.
It's still just a site. There are lots of off-shoots of it though. My wife and I have started playing Quordle, which has you trying to solve four puzzles simultaneously. You also get nine guesses instead of the original six. It's pretty hard. If I get it at all, it takes me at least 8 guesses.

Lessons helped me a lot and I had already been playing for many years when I started them. I think they're worth the money if you're all in on learning to play. My lessons have made it much easier to pick up on free/cheaper content online too.
I'd look for someone who will teach you about the instrument through learning songs, and not someone who will just teach you songs.
I think mine are $35/half hour.
Yeah, there's a guy who does lessons out of the same building my daughter takes dance in, so it would be pretty convenient. Of course I pretty much only see kids coming in and out of there, but his website says kids and adults.
"All in on learning to play" may be over-stating it. It's certainly something I'd really like to learn, but I don't see myself performing or anything. Heck, I don't even really practice unless no one else is home. LOL!

Accountability check......
I'm still shitty. I'm strongly considering some in-person lessons to help get me over the hump. Hard to justify the expense though. The online stuff is mostly all free, which is great but also not exactly working for me since I've had it for a year now and still really struggling. Once I talk myself into it, then I have to get it through committee... LOL!

Not going to debate Eminem. He may or may not be a homophobe. Regardless, I liked him thumbing his nose at the NFL and the idiots that demonized Kaep. I also like his music, which I also won't apologize for, although some of his lyrics are pretty cringeworthy. I also like some Kid Rock songs. Sue me.

I didn't have too much of a problem with my single stage clogging this morning. I had to pace myself a bit, especially at the end of the driveway, and I probably waited about as long as I could for round one. But I got our drive & sidewalk and a couple of neighbors' walks.
Same for the most this morning, except in a few spots that were especially "slushy" as well as the end of the driveway (which, again, are the spots that I really want the blower to do...).

Single stage snowblowers are simply worthless. Anything more than a couple inches of powdery snow, and it clogs like crazy. Being in NW Ohio though, the expense for a two-stage model is hard to justify. $1000 or more for something you pull out of the garage a couple times a year is just too much for me to swallow. So, I continue my battles with the clogs and end up shoveling the heavy stuff, which goes against the very point of owning a snow blower...
Oh, and don't get me started on the idiocy of buying a corner lot in a neighborhood. Moronic. I shouldn't have been allowed to have children...

Lot of noise from the NFL talking heads today (who based on history - both distant and recent - know absolutely nothing). Some say he’s taking the Vikings job tomorrow. Some say he’s taking the Dolphins job tomorrow.
My money is on absolutely nothing happening tomorrow.
I'm of the opinion that the Vikings rumor is just to provide enough "cover" for the Dolphins to justify the hiring. Ross had previously said that he wouldn't lure him away from UM. If he was looking to leave anyway though, it may as well be to Miami...

as a catholic school graduate, i thought the theology courses we took were the most interesting ones i ever took. the bible is full of cool stories.
As a catholic school graduate, I failed the Church History class. I did OK in the prayer class though, where we were encouraged to "silently reflect with our eyes closed".

Well yes, that's what the show was referencing. It was a quick sight gag with no setup or followup Peanuts reference, which is what made it so brilliant to me.
I should have said, no direct reference. There are several subtle references to Peanuts in the episode, since it was titled Good Grief. The Snoopy gag was just one of them.

Somebody alert @Shades of Deivi Cruz
Took me awhile to understand why you thought I needed to be alerted to this. My profile photo is more of an Arrested Development homage than a Charlie Brown one. Still, sorry to see this. We do tend to watch those specials as a family when they come around.

I hate snow.
Will sound weird considering where I spent my weekend, but I agree. If it weren't for having kids in high school, I'd be scouring Indeed for jobs in the Carolinas or below.

The Aaron Rodgers digs are so fun.
Best one I saw was "That's twice this season that we thought Aaron Rodgers had a shot, and were wrong."
And I say that as a Packers fan that was in attendance for that fiasco.

That was my problem yesterday too. Since I've only been playing for a few days, I wasn't entirely sure of the parameters. So far I've played 7 times, gotten it on 4 tries four times and 3 tries three times.

I don't know if more people would be vaxxed if Trump was in office. Dem supporters would be against it then. Harris and a few other dems started this when they said they weren't taking any vaccine that came from the Trump admin.
Even with TFG, Fauci was a trusted source. I have little doubt Dems would have gotten vaccinated with Fauci leading the way. Bleach injection treatments on the other hand...

Nine long years of embarrassing inaction. It should be shocking how little their murders mattered.

Oh man that brings back memories of watching my kids in 5th grade band. It wasn't quite that bad, but it was always pretty cringey. It's totally understandable though because most of them had never touched an instrument before that September. I was always just excited when I could eventually identify the song.
