If you are a Star Wars fan then you probably are watching Andor.  If you are a casual fan.... you need to watch.

I think it's hands down the best SW TV series and the best thing they've done overall in a very long time.

Agreed, though I do really like Mandalorian.

On a recommendation we started Yellowstone. This first episode is just dragging. Anyone else have any encouragement to keep going?

I started Yellowstone last night, and I agree with you. I'll give it some time, but the first episode definitely dragged. I had been wanting to watch it, but don't subscribe to Paramount+ and the first season is only on Peacock. I noticed though that DirecTV has a Paramount channel. I setup a recording for all episodes and waited. Finally last weekend they had a marathon of all of the previous seasons, so I got them all. Now I have 38 more episodes to watch. LOL! I'll watch a couple more this week, and if it doesn't grab me by then, I'll just delete them.

There is a button to disable it but sometimes I forget to hit it and it annoys me.

    Not any more!!

Too bad there isn't a version yet for Honda, or I would get this for my wife for Christmas. It annoys her to no end that she has to push that button every time she gets in the car.

  4. My son is a senior in HS and we went on a campus visit this past Monday. While there he posted about it on (I think) Snapchat. Someone who is a freshman there replied and was going to meet up to talk to him, except his class schedule conflicted with what we had scheduled. He made sure to say that my son could reach out with any questions he might have though.

The amazing thing about this to me is that the two of them are not friends. They went to the same grade school and maybe played soccer or baseball together a time or two, but they never hung around together or anything. It's what social media is supposed to be for, and it just blew my mind that teenagers can (and do) use those apps for good. You always just hear about how they are used for bullying, etc, so I was very pleased to see the other side of it.

I think I want to see a Yankees v Dodgers WS.  1981, redux

Gross. I want to see anything but that. LOL!

I was rooting for the Ms yesterday, but I have a hard time seeing how they bounce back from that loss. Just excruciating...

  6. The whole supply issue is still nutty. I've been car shopping recently. The Chevy dealer says that some features are missing (heated seats and the like), but they will be treated like a recall once the chips are available. Reasonable enough. Mazda on the other hand are also missing features (sat radio, power lift gate), but with no plans to take care of it later. They just knocked a couple hundred bucks off the price.

I actually ended up ordering a Honda CR-V, but without being able to test drive it or have any idea of when I'll get it. That was about 3 weeks ago, and I still don't even have an estimate of any kind.

I really like the look of the Mazda CX-5, but the controls are really wonky. Instead of a touch screen, they have this weird control knob on the console between the two front seats. I don't think that's any sort of supply issue, but was designed that way. Hated it.

From Earnest Tubb to Conway Twitty to Jack White, not to mention a legendary solo career. Truly a country music icon

I love that Portland Oregon track she did with Jack White. It's not on Spotify though, so I never really get to hear it anymore.

And a clear bonus is that if you have to recite your number to a worker, there’s no way they recognize the number unless they are white people between age 50 and 64.

Hey now, I'm not 50 and I know the reference well!

The lane is open until it's closed.

I mean, this is really it. If they wanted people merging a mile earlier, they would have closed it a mile earlier. Sitting in traffic with an empty (still open) lane next to you is a bad idea.

Tried my hand a BBQ Shotgun shells. Stuffed manicotti shells (Angus Beef, Italian Sausage, Hatch peppers and shredded sharp chedder) wrapped with hickory bacon smoked for three hours and a light glaze of sweet bbq sauce. Turned out better than expected. I had a house full of college kids home for the weekend and they loved it.

I have added this to my to-do list for smoker recipes. Looks great, and seems simple enough even I can't screw it up.

The MLB is set to vote in the proposed rule changes tomorrow, they consist of eliminating of the shift, bigger bases and a pitch clock.

I have no idea if any will pass but if they do I wonder how much if any they will benefit the Tigers.

I'm not thrilled the banning of the shift passed. Now hitters have even less reason to adjust. Not to mention that fielders will just move as close to second base and the outfield grass as they can get.  The pitch clock I like. The long delays between pitches has been annoying for years. Bigger bases I don't care about. I don't even know what "problem" that was solving.

  12. I have a Spotify playlist that started as a workout mix, but has morphed to basically be nearly every song I like. It has stuff from the 70s/80s all the way up to new music and includes rap, pop, rock, Prince, Jimmy Buffett... I just looked at it, and it has 1466 songs on it for a total of 91 hours. LOL!

I sort of get why the UK cares but no idea why the rest of the world still does.  They are currently a topic in 3 different threads here at the moment.    They are like a less talented version of the Kardashians.

Agreed. I feel the same way every time there is a "royal wedding". I don't understand all the hoopla. At least in this case she had been a very public figure for a long time.
