  1. Please give me the good Jackson Jobe. Thank you.
  2. "It would be bad for baseball if they make the playoffs, I'm sorry....You don't want a team that sold two of their best players still sneaking in. I think that's bad for baseball. I think that's bad precedent to set." -- AJ Pierzynski If the Tigers make it into the playoffs, someone needs to make t-shirts for the team: 2026 Detroit Tigers We're Bad for Baseball
  3. I do have confidence in Baez in LF. He will probably make a game-saving diving catch there today.
  4. Baez in LF...interesting. I would have guessed Baez in CF and Clark in LF. But I like not disrupting Clark.
  5. You think it's tedious in the United States.
  6. I really don't care at all about apathy.
  7. I really dislike off days since I'm greedy for Tigers baseball. But it seems like this off day is great timing: the team can prepare for a couple of big home series with a positive attitude and all kinds of confidence...the bullpen can get rested up so there will not be a need to stick with a struggling starter if a change needs to be made...Job & Melton can get an extra day's rest to keep them healing/fresh OR someone could be skipped/swapped to get to Melton sooner. A lot of good options possible because of this off day.
  8. What more does Montero need to do to be considered a starter in the future? I'd much rather go with Montero at #5 than sign Mize.
  9. "Everybody is irreplaceable...nobody is indispensable"
  10. Might as well score 8 runs 🤷‍♂️
  11. He's not a Tiger so why would I watch?
  12. Thanks for the information...Knowledge is power!
  13. I need to stay in my lane on these things...this certainly is not in my wheelhouse. Question: wouldn't it be 2 picks if McG wins ROY and Mize turns down a QO? (Maybe the ROY award isn't affected? Maybe Mize is traded or accepts the QO...)
  14. So, actually the Skubal trade includes not only the 3 players we received, but also moving 2 draft picks from after the 4th round to after the 1st round. That seems like a pretty significant addition to the deal. I know it could be argued that they could have gotten under the tax by trading some other player, but they certainly wouldn't have gotten the prospects that they did. Maybe they thought this deal was the best of all worlds: lose only one player (although he his your best player) to get some good prospects, get under the tax threshold to save your good draft picks, keep some semblance of playoff hope alive by keeping the rest of the team in tact.
  15. If he is injured, it will show up on the medicals before the trade if finalized. It seems foolish for the Tigers to try to hide an injury knowing it will probably be discovered before the trade is finalized.
  16. Perhaps they wanted to bring him up to debut in a minor league stadium to help his transition to the major leagues. 😉
  17. The odds of any single player winning ROY are so slim (competition, injury, etc) that it hardly seems like it should be a determining factor in these decisions.
  18. If they are still out of contention they would. If he carried them back into the playoff race, then keeping him up makes perfect sense despite the cost.
  19. No one is saying he needs to remain up with the team until the end of the season. Use him now when we need him (Vierling injury) and then send him back down to stay under the 45 days. Seems smart to me.
  20. That would surprise me. If true, maybe this is their way of getting under the luxury tax.
  21. Everything about this post is absolutely correct.
  22. Is that a current picture of Sean Casey?
