This kind of signing is exactly what I would expect for this year and am happy to see it.

I like the move and am happy to have Boyd back for the year. He fills a hole...is a leader and good influence for the young pitchers he already knows...could be a decent starter. I'm also glad someone else paid 5+ million for his recovery year.

I'm always sad when the season ends...no matter how good or bad the team is.

If I am correct, this game matters. It is a MUST LOSE game for us. If we win and Texas loses, Texas will be the 6th team and included in the 1-6 draft pick lottery and we will be left with pick #7.

How about that...Cabrerra 1st to 3rd on a WP. It's like he's 29 instead of 39. (Although it took too much out of him so he couldn't score on the fly ball.)

My favorite Comerica Park story...I was there with my young daughter probably back in the mid-2000s. The team was bad enough that the stadium was pretty empty. We walked behind the CF camera well and noticed the door was open a crack and no one was broadcasting that day. So, we stepped in and watched an inning and a half from the CF camera well. It was amazing how clearly you could see the pitches moving even from that distance. After an inning and a half some usher opened the door and asked what we were doing out there. I replied "Just leaving" as we hurried past and disappeared. 🙂

I used to referee basketball. It was most often a great way for me to stay connected to the sport (since I wasn't tall enough or good enough to continue playing it). I worked one elementary school 3-on-3 fundraising tournament. It was hell. Those parents were ruthless. I refused to ever do a tournament like that ever again.
