  1. Absolutely right. It's ludicrous to say that there isn't enough pitching, both managers are incompetent if they couldn't allocate their supplies properly to meet their commitments. It is a callous disregard for customers and their families.
  2. Yep, both years.
  3. People don't have to be embarrassed about being stupid now, they can actually be proud of it.
  4. I am one of the resident Canadians here, but I will tell you my favourite NJ association. Richard Jenne doing stand-up, pretending to be on the stage at a political convention, announcing the delegates, their home state, and their state motto: "from New Jersey, the 'what the fuck are you lookin' at?' state..."
  5. Avila and his staff consistently improve the team every off-season, they do a good job at the draft, at Rule 5, at free agency, and at trades. I don't see why this deal would surprise anyone except the "should of got more for JD" types.
  6. Yeah, sorry fellas, he is playing this year and next year.
  7. And, they were stupid enough to work for him in the first place.
  8. This team is better than you think it is.
  9. It's very gerrymandered. Last time he got 49% of the vote and 66% of the seats.
  10. The veterans need to teach the younger players how to win,
  11. I don't like Bill Maher because of the whiny snark.
  12. You're right, he was traded. Al Avila unloaded that contract, wow, he should get a lot more credit for that.
  13. I'm fuzzy on the details of Upton's time here. He had a ridiculous contract from Mike I., but with an opt-out I think? And he opted out, much to the Tigers' relief, and took a contract from the Angels for less AAV but more years? I am just trying to remember, if he had not opted out would he still be on the Tigers' payroll in 2022?
  14. Barnhart picks off Gleyber Torres...at second base lol!
  15. He was just nauseating as a player when he was interviewed, he would keep talking and talking and you could tell that he was auditioning for broadcasting even back then.
  16. It's Bert but we do look alike
  17. If there is another site that has people who are more sophisticated about politics than we are, he should spend a lot more time there, and a lot less time here.
  18. I agree with that, and in the last 40 years there have been, as far as I can recall, 3 players who were drafted and developed who meet your definition of "above average": Travis Fryman, Bobby Higginson, and Curtis Granderson. That's it, 3 guys in 40 years. Pretty tough to hang all that on Chris Ilitch.
  19. Wow. If that is true, it is another catastrophic failure of leadership.
  20. I've had Moderna Pfizer Pfizer. 4th shot isn't available to me but my wife has had it.
  21. It has been 45 years since the Tigers consistently added good young talent to the organization, year after year. Maybe these last 2 drafts will prove to be different
  22. Yes, all the development in the world won't correct poor choices made in talent acquisition.
  23. In order to bottom out for 5 years you need to have been just abysmal at identifying and developing talent for the previous 10 years.
