  1. I know people like that, as old as Panetta or older, who make insanely prejudicial blanket statements about ethic groups. Here is the best one so far: "the Finns are very clean".
  2. Lol, Biden's parents arrived from Donegal last week.
  3. A plan even remotely tethered to reality?
  4. Plan? There was a plan? It did not appear as though there was an actual plan.
  5. LOL, all these years and I just logically assumed that the bag was already in the place that is being proposed.
  6. I don't think that that type of comment serves any purpose except, possibly, gaining some approval points back home. I do not believe that it was a gaffe.
  7. The rich tradition of Big Fat Righthanded Relievers dates back to Steve Foucault I think, acquired in early 1977. When he arrived in Detroit, at his first meeting with the beat reporters he was wearing number 29 and one of the reporters kidded him about it and he said "yeah, they gave me the fat guy's uniform". When the reporter followed up with an observation that it was odd that the Tigers would always put the 29 number on an extra large shirt every year, Foucault said "no, I really mean this is Lolich's actual uniform". LOL at how cheap Jim Campbell was. It's possible that the chain has been broken occasionally but the torch has been passed to Franklyn German, and Joba Chamberlain, and Joe Jimenez, and probably several more. I would like to see it continue.
  8. Meathead: Oh, so I suppose that the church you go to is the right one, eh Arch? AB: Well, I'd be pretty stupid if it wasn't.
  9. I like him but I have to smile about him making a sacrifice by moving around the infield. According to Leyland at the time, Cabrera had been bugging him about playing third for quite a while before the Fielder trade. I liked him at third. If you hit it right to him he made all the plays, and he had a great arm.
  10. Ha ha, Stieb wouldn't have cared at all about Morris. Morris, though, would have been enraged at all the people who said Stieb was better.
  11. They were each other's most interesting opponent especially from 1985 to about 1989, without them actually disliking each other, or the opponent's fans hating them Except that I would imagine that Jack Morris was insanely jealous of Dave Stieb.
  12. It's true, there needs to be a roster spot for a Big Fat Right-handed Reliever.
  13. Lots of good players in the lineup today, plus Harold and Paredes.
  14. He's not a good enough player to be so adversarial with beat reporters, and to have such rabbit ears on social media. He had some 40 point games but good grief I should hope so with that O line, that backfield, and Landry. The front office got tired of him and his immaturity.
  15. That was a big disappointment for me, taking Mayfield and his chip on his shoulder, so soon after wasting time on Manziel.
  16. Darn. I am a Browns fan, need to get rid of him. Mike Florio thinks the Lions should take him!
  17. So...you guys don't want Baker Mayfield?
  18. Our mask requirements were removed last Monday, over the objections of all of the regional medical officers (we have a provincial election coming up). I am just back from the grocery store, my estimate is that two thirds of the people were not wearing them.
  19. Wait...you haven't banned Russian oil yet?
  20. They don't need anyone to remind them of anything. No one else is in any position to claim some sort of superior analysis.
  21. I don't know what people mean by "negotiations" or "peace talks". Here is Ukraine's position: (a) GTFO (b) take all your derelict/destroyed equipment with you (c) pay for the damage and compensate the families of the victims I don't know why people think that the Ukrainians should soften their position on any of these or, especially, take advice from anyone else.
  22. Help them understand? They understand that better than any of us ever will.
  23. Guys like him just keep on meeting our expectations,
  24. I'm afraid that that horse has left the barn
  25. Time for Nolan Blackwood. It's a great name for a dashing cavalry lieutenant.
